Your original reply of "suppose to" is not a definitive answer of when it's due out sir. I'm looking for information regarding an exact date without any assumptions. |

Weird POI icons with new 2008-1 Europe disc
Hi, I borrowed the 2008-1 Europe DVD from a friend of mine to try it in my E92. FYI, he has an E93, the disc was a backup to DVD+R and not an original.
If I look at the POI icon files on the disc (.GIF files) they look fine on my PC, but on my nav screen they all come up as a circle with a dot in the middle, regardless of category. It's as if the nav is not reading the GIF files but using a generic icon, or it could be a scaling problem. Anybody else have this? I want to get an official version of the disc if this problem will not occur, but I am not going to waste EUR250 if the new disc will not work with my progman version. My dealer is usually clueless on these kinds of things so I would rather find out here first. |

This is likely another reason BMW dropped them, not reliable for updates. Two a year seems decent but when we haven't had one since Oct 2006 that is really bad. I know I report issues through their site all the time for bad POI's. Only once have I ever been notified that they corrected it and that was after 2 years time. Not impressed with them at all, must be a really small staff. Hope we see a new disc soon....

man, I hope a new disk comes out before I get my car. I just ordered last week and will probably get my car in April or May. It would really suck if a new nav DVD came out right after that. Do you think I would have any reason to ask for a complementary version if that happened?

New DVD
I took delivery of my E92 in Jan 08 and it didn't have a NAV DVD included because it would have been the European DVD. I'm waiting for the 2008 map DVD to come out before I order the DVD. Seems silly to get the 2007.2 version now only to have to order the 08 version soon after. Would be nice to get a rough date on when the new one is due out though. Can't get that information from NAVTEQ.

Still not listed on the Navteq website though. Where did you get the info that it was out?
