MB, take your stock wheels/tire along too.
Do a couple passes on them. It would be nice to see the difference between the DR's and RFT's with the traction of ATCO. I think 11's are a wing and a prayer. But I think if ATCO is prepped as good as they often are and the weather is nice and cool, I predict you can do: 12.3 @ 111+ mph on the DR's and 12.5 @ 112+ mph on the RFT's Have fun. Oh and bring a lightweight friend with some drag racing experience along too. See what he can do in your car as well. Last edited by Driver72; 10-17-2007 at 05:23 PM.. |

What size BFG DR's are you running? I am thinking about getting 275/35/18's or 275/40/17's. Thanks for the info. MB and good luck

Well, he's already got the fastest PROcede 335i timeslip posted on DragTimes.com, and that was w/ PROcede v1.4x, so I think w/ v2 and colder temps, he'll break below his current #1 time.

I just got the 275/40/17 BF Goodrich DR T/A II. I am going to the track On Friday and I will be posting the improvements. Before I was getting a 2.0 60', I am hoping for a solid 1.8sec 60' or even a 1.7 sec 60'. If you wait until Friday night I will be posting my new times. I haven't seen many people with the DR T/A II(they are too new). I have a Sport package 335i so my car has 18" rims but I purchased a separate set of two 17" Kosei rims for the 275's. Stay tune. |

No way. Not on a track like ATCO. It's already prepped well and you can launch pretty hard with regular street tires. I don't know of any track where our cars would benefit .5 seconds in the 1/4 mile simply by having DR's on. |

Max got a 12.7 there on stock Runflats with v1.47 as his only mod. It's almost always prepped really well, and therefore very sticky off the line. You can launch hard there even on the stock runflats and get incredible times. and IIRC, Max is a big dude (in the 260 lbs range) so imagine what a 150 lbs driver with a 335i could do there. Our tracks here in So. Cal are barely 1/2 as good (prep wise) and they are all 70+ miles from LA. |

You don't know that a 150 lbs driver would be .1 second quicker. I know that old "rule of thumb" that 100 lbs = .1 second. But that's loosely based. I've made runs with 150-160lbs passenger in my car and have dropped .2-.25 seconds. True it would probably be .1-.15 seconds, but it might only be .08 or it could be .2 depends on launch, shift points, etc. I've been drag racing too much to know that it really depends on the power and weight of each car. It just would be fun to see what a lighter guy with drag racing experience could get there in a v2.0 335i as well. |
