Yes, just tell him Josh Wood referred you - maybe it'll save me a few dollars in the future . Anyway, I've been subscribing to the the threads and FB groups, so I share the sentiment of hoping to meet some more of the local enthusiasts.

Good advice in this thread. Yes OP (how's that coding going for you, btw? ), I'd definitely check out the Tejas Chapter events. The Berli's and BBQ event should be pretty interesting, and I'm actually coordinating the Bluebonnet Drive in March.
As for service, yes BMW of Austin is an amazing place. The facilities themselves are incredibly nicely done, and where else have you found a dealership with a movie theater? Yes, seriously, complete with soundproofing, La-Z-Boys, and a ~106" projection setup fed by a 500-disc Blu-ray player that allows you to choose what to watch while you wait. And the employees there are unbelievably helpful and polite -- not just the SAs, but the techs too! I once had an SA walk me from Point A to B and he couldn't accompany me all the way but clearly pointed me to the door I needed to go to and then radioed ahead to an employee at said door asking them to make sure to get the door for me! All that said, I have no idea what they charge for work done outside of warranty/Ultimate Service. If you need an indy recommendation closer to Central Austin, check out Flamingo Automotive. I wrote a review for them on Yelp so I won't regurgitate all that here, but you can read it here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/flamingo-aut...PUQd9a3GhK4ipw.

That said, I've had nothing but great experiences with my SA Thad Tucker there; bought him a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black for Christmas since he's gone above and beyond for me on several occasions. Congrats on the new 335i being near! You hear a lot more of the wastegate blowoff on the N55 than the N54, reminds you even more that there's a turbo under the hood. Have you found a new home for your E92? And do you have your mod/performance upgrade list already sorted out?

I've had several bites on the car, but no firm purchasers yet, although I have 2 that are requesting more info and indicating they're serious buyers. One's from up in the Dallas area. Car's running SUPER good with this cool air...almost hate to give it up, but can't keep 3 cars. See you at B&B this weekend, although we may not do the lunch - I'm not sure if Louie M's can do 100 people or thereabouts without a huge wait time. Also, I'm awaiting word from Dudley at BMWofAus regarding when the car will arrive - might be next weekend!

Good luck on selling the E92. I hope you can find a fellow enthusiast to take it and appreciate it for what it is rather than having to sell it to a dealer where it will go who knows where. My car is running particularly well in this cold weather too -- even more so a month ago when it was in the 30s. But it's a cruel irony of nature that temperature drops increase engine power but also reduce available traction.

My current S3 software plus the exhaust, intake, intercooler, and oil cooler give me around 410/440 (flywheel); the N55 S3 gets you something around 380 at best. Word is that the N55 is more about efficiency than pure power, which is why the N54 is still being produced for the "IS" models, which continue as E92 and E93 cars. I'm going to stay conservative on the F30, and enjoy the dynamic handling and added space/doors. I can always get my 6-speed fix in the 128 convertible.
