Also, JF Tuning and JR Automotive DO advertise the gearbox remap. |

I don't know for sure but if the remaps of the boxes take the figures beyond manufacturer recommendation then I see a risk |

I have a love/hate relationship with it, perfect for the daily commute, not great if you want a spirited drive... |

Would a gearbox software update not help at all?
Car would be so much better to drive if the torque converter to locked up earlier on

Yeah, very knowledgable and charged me £330 which included the gearbox oil sleeve which had been weeping oil.
The tech took the car for a drive first, came back and said it had clutch slip (clutch slip in a torque converter??) in 1 -> 2 and 2 -> 3. When they took the pan off, they did say it was a little low. They replaced the oil and changed the sleeve in just under 2 hours. On the way home, it did feel smoother. Now I just need someone to reset the adaptations for me....anyone care to help? |

Make of that what you will.... Don't get me wrong, I was just as eager as you are when I first heard about JR and JF - in fact, if you look at my profile, you will see that I started a thread about it a few months ago. The only thing I am still curious about is how the Alpina flash works for the 335i and not the 335D. Is it because the Alpina flash is only applicable for the DCT gearboxes? |

Have you tried resetting the throttle adaptations? Very easy to do:
1 - Get in the car, put the key in the slot and press the start button (making sure foot is OFF the brake so the car doesn't start). Instrumenation should come on; 2 - Fully depress the accelerator for 1 min. Don't take your foot off the accelerator and don't touch anything else in the car; 3 - Without releasing the accelerator, press the Start button, switching the instrumentation off; 4 - Release accelerator pedal and leave for one min. Don't touch anything in the car. 5 - Start the car and drive as normal and you should notice the throttle being more sensitive as the adaptations have now been reset to default. Nice little "get you home" until you get your sprint booster. Last edited by IceMan007; 09-24-2015 at 07:18 AM.. |

Will it simply be constantly adapting from one extreme to the other? |

Raj, is the procedure I've described essentially what you're offering to do, via INPA?
If so, I'm more interested in the gearbox adaptation reset rather than throttle position. |

it does make a difference and you can tell. i have been in a 335d and it was lethal as it had a map on it aswell but his box started playing up and when he used to upshift when hes hooning it it will rev up to the red line and then upshift |
