ok so update, I bought a flash drive and the sound is still audible. When i was sitting in the car the noise was mainly evident when on the equalizer the 200 bass was turned up. It wasnt the aux plug so what could it be now?

As i stated in my post its not the AUX thats the problem... it does it in mines regardless of using the OEM iPod cord. I am taking it to the dealer next tuesday and will report back what they say...

Taking the car to the dealer tomorrow for this issues. I removed my subwoofer connector so the subs are not active hopefully they wont say anything because I have subs in the trunk. Without the subs there is a very noticeable loud distortion sound at certain frequencies on particular songs. It can clearly be hard using the AUX input, Radio, and the BMW iPod OEM dock connector.
I'll update you guys on what BMW says tomorrow and the final effort.

went to the dealer today had a tech w/ me in the car to show him the sound issue, unfortunately i couldn't reproduce the sound. Which is funny because it was doing it all last night on the same exact song i used.
anyways he told me that if the amp is pushing out too much power it will cut off power to speakers and clip the audio creating that distortion noise. He said that way the amp doesnt blow the speakers. Not sure if that was a BS answer or not but I wasnt able to reproduce it while he was there so there wasnt much i could say. Can anyone verify this... Technic?
