If you're out of warranty (which I think you said), there is no reason to replace it with a modified one, just have it taken out altogether! Expect to pay the shop minimum for labor, so probably one hour at their rate.

I printed this out and gave it to my mechanic, they said they had no issues at all, and there were no additional parts necessary.

I bought a hollowed CDV from ECS for $18 but you could hollow your stock one out for free. The install process looks pretty easy too if you don't mind getting dirty.

I finally replaced my totalled 07 rwd with an 09 awd on Saturday after more than a month search. If I find some time after work this week to slap the jb4 back in, and do a quick backend flash, I may go this Friday night.

The wind is to strong and push out cars backwards lol the fastest pass of the night was the kid with the black 335i Dinan stage 2 with a 13.2 then I believe second fastest was Northeast335xi with a slipping clutch13.6 and I was the slowest at 14 stock car

im pretty likely to head out tomorrow night and would love to see some e9x's out there. Ill bring my M3 but... no sense in running it right now given the fact it still has Blizzaks on it... real rubber goes on this Friday... Going with Conti Extreme Contact DW, and the Blizzaks go up for sale.
I have no helmets to use sorry man. |

NED is widely regarded as a slow ass track... Maybe their level didn't work when they paved it, maybe its the surface being sub par, but all the times I've gone, stock cars run slower than stock times as C&D would publish... granted, C&D has the "Driver mod" and the "i don't own this" mod, but yeah... i'd add a solid half second to any 1/4 mi ET that Car And Driver publishes for the NED result.

My first pass in any car EVER at NED was my RWD 335i ... Stock. Ran 13.6 with about a 0.7 RT. In all fairness I ran it one more time after I got jb4 installed and I couldn't get down the track faster than 13.2 before it started to rain.
Are you guys running aftermarket intercoolers? I know my car in the later stages before it was totalled had some pretty bad heatsoak on pulls seperated by less than 5-8 mins or so. |

This is why i wont run my car at NED. Its just not a good drag car period. My stock clutch is at the limit right now (402whp 450wtq) and i dont want to replace it as i plan on selling the car within a year. I just cant bring myself to beat the shit out of it to run a bad time and break my heart haha.

Not sure I can risk breaking something to run a slow time. Any fast tracks in our area? I'm not driving back to bleeping Florida to crack 11's

The track isn't that far off. The people I went up with are vets @ NED and have been going in different cars for quite a few years and they mentioned that it is slower than some other tracks but nothing so far out of whack to make you not go there and have fun. My friend was running a consistent 12.7 in his bone stock Mustang GT, his friends were running times very consistent with what they expected from their cars too. For my first time ever trying to drag race and for only owning the car for 1 month I ran a 13.45 @ 108 and I expect I can get that to 12.9 just by launching better. Anyhow, its your dime

http://www.dragraceresults.com/track_directory.cfm So NED it is.... Its still fun to go out and watch, and if you decide to run, work on your launch technique... or better yet, do a grudge match and line up next to a shit talking buddy. From owning a 335 and seeing many N54/N55 cars run, only one guy ever busted anything serious in the last two years... but he has a Qualife LSD in a RWD 335 6MT which snapped an axle on a hard launch. No LSD and id bet my next paycheck it wouldn't have snapped. Anyone want to head out tonight? Ill go if someone from these forms wants to head out tonight, shoot the shit and watch civics blow up. |

Yeah I think that snapped axel was 100% my fault looking back on it. Hard launch and I didn't take any air out of my tires so it made it super prone to wheel hop. I'll go back with a diff lockdown kit and DSS axles this fall.
If we do a meet up there or there is a group going i'll come up to watch.

I can't do it tonight unfortunately. Wife threw her back out so I have to leave work now to take care of the kid. Some other day. I usually need a bit more notice(few days) in general but that is just me.
