Don't think anything suits the E92 coupe more than stock 313's.

How about a slight colour change? Spacers?

I tend to agree. Well not that they look old, rather they just suit older cars. I could imagine those wheels would look fantastic on an e30 for example. They don't look bad as such on an e92 but to my mind they just don't suit it.

Sorry to move the goal posts...but the more I look into this the more I'm coming around to the idea of black on black (contrary to what I said in my first post).

In terms of style I'm torn between CS Lites and V710s. In terms of finish I'm torn between gloss and matte black. Any views on what might look better on a metallic black e92?

CS Lite (gloss):

CS Lite (matte):

(Can't find any pics on an e92 unfortunately)

V710 (gloss):

V710 (matte):

Not a black on black fan. The wheels vanish and stop becoming focal points.

Yeah I definitely thought that too, but from looking at more and more photos I suspect it really depends on the wheels, and to a degree the quality/lighting of the photo you're looking at. I saw a black M4 with black rims today and I realised it looks so much better in person than in photos.

I wouldn't go black on black being totally honest. Think black wheels don't do any justice as the detail of the rims just gets lost. I nice anthracite etc is nice as it's dark enough but still shows off the rims.

I've been through a number sets of rims on mine already. Think something like BBS CH-R's in satin anthracite would look excellent. I'm sure someone was selling a set of silver ones which you could refurb to desired colour.

Do like Rays rims too.

This means that the wheels will only look good in a certain quality of light is what your saying and i'd agree... but in real life under most of the british doom & gloom days they will just look like a set of winter steelies with no wheel trims to the avarage joe

Bright silver/hyper silver FTW!

I really appreciate the views lads. Part of my problem is that I'm pretty new to all this and I haven't seen many e92s with non-stock wheels in real life so I'm trying to second guess what they might look like based on photos.

I definitely get the point about black on black, but there's something compelling about them to me at the same time. I will keep thinking..

im also in the same boat mate, albeit mines just a pre-lci black coupe. I am struggling with wheel choice, but know its got to be silver as the 'murdered out' look is a bit 'chavvy' IMO...

If you're going to go with Black, the main thing as RajB says - the detail of the wheels get lost.

There is also this to consider - the gallons and gallons of tire slick you need to keep the side wall shiny along with the clean alloy... otherwise it just looks odd as you end up with a "grey/black" against your shiny black alloy. If you're gonna go with Black it has to be Matte.

I've got the same M590s as Fundguy just in brushed gunmetal on my black e90. I really like them, especially in the sun.

You will find that most of the wheels have same designs with slight alteration. So give yourself a favour and look at CM wheels website.

These wheels remind me of Ispiri ISR 10.

You can see the thread here

From my experience, Ferric Grey / graphite colour suits the black car to give it some aggressive look.

Thanks mate, they look great. However one thing mentioned in that thread is that BMW centre caps won't fit on these wheels. That would put me off them tbh!

Dont go black. They get lost on the car. People won't even see them. Titanium, bronze, dark greys and silvers, sure. But black was overplayed 10 yrs ago. Looks cheap.

Ha, thank you... I actually ended up keeping tyre slick in the car I had at one point which was a bit mental and got them refurbed into silver.

All of a sudden there was no need for the slick

I'm not a fan but that's because I'm just not a fan of those wheels, irrespective of the colour! They look a bit small - are they 18" or 19"?

Those Rotiforms though...
