Is the E90 M3 already a facelift model even though it came out before the general E90/E91? My neighbour has just got one and I was surprised it was the newer looking front-end, or is it just a unique M3 front end?

But it should be getting the same butt-lift as the E90.

yes those are tourist plates that can be used for one month in any European country! I will register it in Romania

in a couple of days I hope...

The new steering wheel doesn't have the programmable buttons anymore. It only has Volume, Voice Command, Phone Command, Source change (eg. Radio/CD), next and previous buttons and air recirculation button. I think that these are the main buttons that you would need, plus you have all the 8 buttons from below the CD/DVD drive that you can program them to access whatever you want (for example: call a certain telephone number or enter vehicle settings, etc.)
I'm sure you may knew all this but i'm very surprised and i sure find them very useful.

Got to ask, name aside, are you a Brit or is your English just bloody good, oh and do you speak German or did the

sales guy speak English. Just being nosey you understand.

Many happy miles (kilometres) of motoring in the very capable 'big D'.

Thanks! No, i'm not a Brit, i'm from Bucharest, ROMANIA. I don't speak german but my wife does

Now the review!

Looks

Stunning!!!

I'm so glad i added the M kit! It looks fantastic and it sure does look very different from the non M sport model. I think that the new spoiler matches the car and the redesigned hood better than before. I know....the mirrors are
bigger than the old ones but let's be honest they don't ruin the car's look that much plus the visibility is great!

The headlights have those lateral yellow leds that turn on at night (just like the 5 series) - really cool. I've also noticed that the angel eyes are brighter on auto mode than when you turn them on manually, are your the same?
No need to mention the rear lights that are gorgeous in my opinion! Much nicer than the old ones, especially with those led turn signals. I wouldn't mind though to see some new balcklines soon

Driving

First of all i want to thank everyone that i PM'ed regarding the sport suspension. I had lots of doubts but finally decided to go for it and i'm glad i did! It may not be that comfortable on the Romanian roads but they sure match the car perfectly. You wouldn't want a 286hp BMW to drive like a boat.No wonder they come standard for the 335i.

Anyway, i don't know how exactly they do it but know I understand what everybody means when they say that BMW handles perfectly!! I mean the steering and the suspension is absolute fabulous, it goes where you want to and it is extremely balanced and safe! This is the most amazing thing about my car! (besides the engine ))

It's my first car with automatic gearbox! However, I had no problem with that, the gearbox is very intelligent in my opinion and as everyone said it adapts to your driving style. The steering wheel paddles are useful too for
qucik gear changes.

The tires are PS2 as you probably noticed. I don't know how others are but these grip very well! Anyway, I will switch to non RFTs next spring probably.

Engine

What a masterpiece ))) I absolutely love it! Lol, i didn't push it very hard yet because i want to give it the correct brake-in. But still... the torque and the power are simply amazing! It's so damn quick! I like the sound too, very sporty for a diesel! The highway fuel consumption is good, i mean i drove from Munchen to Wien and had an average speed of 115km/h and the fuel consumption was only 7.3l/km. I know it's not that relevant because i didn't
push it more than 160km/h.

Entertainment/Gadgets

New Idrive is superb! The screen is very clear and bright and has a high resolution. The new controller it's easy to use and the shortcut buttons are very useful to browse through different function. The HDD for music supports up to 13GB and it's really fun to use, you just plug in you memory stick in the USB port inside the glove box (i also have one inside the armrest but only works for playbck) and click import music! The navigation is very poor for Romania but from Germany, Austria and other western European countries it's very complex and has all the feature professional navi should have!
The high beam assistance came standard! The rest is pretty much the same and you know better than i know...... yet!

I'm more than pleased with my car and i can honestly say IT WAS WORTH WAITING FOR!!! (while i was waiting I never thought i would say that!)

I know that probably this is not the best review because i'm not that good at this kinds of things.

Anyway, what everybody should know is that BMW 335d is an awesome ride and I'm so damn excited that after 3 years of reading this wonderful forum every day, i finally have my own ride!!!

Thank you guys for all your support!!!

If anyone has any questions about the facelift please don't hesitate to ask me, i would gladly help as any of you would do!

A very good review and some excellent pics... I can understand your love for it, i had promised myself I would never buy a BMW, but in the end it was the best choice for me for all round complete package that drives amazingly.

If you ever get bored, then just push it harder into the bends and lap up the smiles!

Tempted to buy another one in the future, but sadly cannot change cars for a few years.

Excellent review, Andrei. Were you able to get the car on roads like that in the poster in your first picture? Love those wheels.

Best wishes to you (and the missus) on your new baby. Keep the dirty side down and the shiny side up.

I would love to drive the car on those kind of roads and we do have some in Romania but the tarmac's quality is a disaster!

The other problem is that we have a very dirty country and the black color is very difficult to keep clean. Anyway, i'm used to that because it's my 3rd black car!

I'm still very very excited about the car and didn't get the chance to discover all its features yet!

Thanks for your support and i'll keep adding small reviews! I have some more pics from the delivery trip that i will post later.

I can't believe that nobody spotted a huge factory mistake in this car.

They have placed the steering wheel in the wrong side

Enjoy your car mate
