I am looking at getting an MMI box for CarPlay and aftermarket backup camera. Is the any advantage to getting the units that replace the entire LCD screen rather than just adding an MMI? Besides of course touchscreen which doesn't interest me that much. Better resolution than my CIC maybe? Also has anyone gotten audio to work over usb rather than AUX? I'm worried about sound quality.

Audio over usb? Not happening. They all use AUX.

i couldn't hear much of a difference in audio quality between aux front in and usb (not center armrest aux port), aux front in can be coded so routing of an aux cable is not needed.

i can hear a difference when playing back mp3s from the hard drive or usb stick. that will have the highest audio quality.

Anyone know what we're supposed to do with the "Carplay High Can" plug? I don't see where this is supposed to plug into.

Nevermind, I think I got it, it depends on 1 of 3 connection methods and whichever one works.
