The insurance company's job is to get your car back to where it was before, not better off. So unless you are willing to pay some of your own money out of your pocket, good luck getting them to pay for what wasn't on your car before the accident.. Unless you have a sketchy body shop, they might be able to do the dirty work for you...

Actually, the body shop is the local dealer's recommendation and had installed the OEM kit way back when .......

As far as changing parts goes ..... the body shop has agreed to wait with ordering parts until I let them know what I'm ordering. All in all, I'm actually going to break even .....
