I'd go with a slightly used VW TDI if you can find one. Diesel is the future of automobile fuel for this country, or so my father in law says . I guess there's some reason to that logic since we can produce biodiesel domestically without a heavy reliance on imports. When gasoline eventually gets back to $4/gallon and above, you'll be glad to have an oil burner in your stable to compliment the "fun" car.

I think I'm leaning more and more towards a used (new body) G35/G37 for less than $25K. Pay it off in two years, then use the corporate allowance to buy an M.

Challenge seems to be finding a G with a Sport Package. They're around but hard to search for on Auto Trader etc.
