The earlier the better for me. I am well past break-in and am dying to get it tuned.

I'll call my friend with the mobil dyno.... I think I can get us a good deal. I'll let you all know what dates are available. Can someone check with Shiv and see what his april/may schedule is like.

I just emailed calvin@vishnu, I asked him about what shivs schedule for mid april/ early may looks like. I also work in the hotel business so getting a room for him shouldn't be a problem at all. I hope specialque can assist us with the dyno renting. However, I will keep you guys posted when calvin e mails me back. I also hope everyone keeps their word and lets not waste Shiv's time. Happy Holidays guys.

All, I have contacted the dyno people... I'm awaiting a response. If this place doesn't work. I have a back up plan.

Dyno is Secure, he's blocking out the later weeks in April and Early May. We just need to secure Shiv...

I'm working on the cost, but right now it's $50 for set up and $25 for every 15minutes the car is actually on the dyno. Shiv has the base maps so really it's just some adjusting for each car. So IMO the cars shouldn't be on the dyno for more than 30min each, but someone should show Shiv this thread so he can correct me if I'm wrong.

I've asked him to give me one price to rent him for the whole day. I'll keep you all updated.

Luke

Hey guys, still awaiting my answer from Calvin@vishnu. I was reading in the forums that by the time we wish to get our hands on the xede, we might not even have to invite Shiv over to nyc, we can pretty much just order the xede and have it installed. In the meantime, we have about 8 or 9 335i's that will be ready to be tuned by april or may. I'm pretty sure Shiv will visit us in NYC, once he finds out how many bmw euthusiastics we have around here. Glad that the ny market didn't die. Once I get more info, I'll definitely keep you guys posted. Tom

We could always Still get the dyno and have my guy tune the cars. We'd just have an "Xede" Dyno Meet.

I'm interested as long as it doesn't void my warranty. What I mean is, will the dealership know it was there, even if I remove it before servicing?

Theres no guarantee that it is not going to void your warranty. However, there is a really good chance that it wouldn't ( according to what i read). Great job specialque. Hopefully we would be able to just order the xede and have it tuned by " your guy". I'm anxiously awaiting my vehicle, and I'm definitely down for a xede meet, we just need to order our xede, however it is on back order. Tom

Actually the power gains are around 30 hp and 60 pounds of tq. Especially for us in the Ny area where we use 93 octane. From the reviews I have read, the xede will make a major difference in performance. Correct me if I'm wrong, I'm definitely one with an open mind. Also I would love to have a xede dyno meet, for those are who have concerns, they can come and see us have our vehicles tuned, and maybe ride on the passenger to feel the difference. Will be a great experience. Hope we can pull this off.

IF this works, shouldn't it be in more than theory, faster than the current e46 m3? With more than approx 340hp and approx 360 lb ft of torque...

Brisk, I'm not sure where your getting your info from, and I'm definitely not here to pass judgement on you. However, from my understanding the average gains are 30 hp and 60 pounds of tq (to the wheel that is). So you might even expect close to 400 hp to the crank. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Tom

sounds look a god old topic in here... and in NY!

the Xede will be unnoticable if removed before going to the dealer pretty much impossible to know u had one if removed.... if left installed it will probably void warranty, but than again if ur headlight isnt working and u have the Xede they cant say o cuz u have a Xede ur headlight blew out!
but they can say cuz ur engine blew up its the Xede fault.. get the diff.?

anyways this meet sounds good and for april im down myself...

but yes like was mentioned the Xede is pretty much tuned to spec so even getting it tuned by shiv will only get you minimal performance gains to say the least.( 5-10) 15 if lucky. dont forget the meets he is doing now is almost like a perfecting for the Xede, its not in production form, alot of people risk bgetting the Xede at the moment throwing it in and running it in there car because its not perfected, hence shiv w.e. getting one is the people who are at the meets and the cars being tuned to spec.....

imo this would still be a great meet and im still down, be info for some people... and if and or ur paranoid the dyno should have a A/F meter to check the lean/rich condititon so ur car can run cool and smoothly for the long haul.... but seems like shiv has perfected that, the Xede should be shipping late this month or early next...
