Question on the machining of the stock housing...as I'm considering buying the compressor and all the parts from EPL and machining myself.

I'm a decent machinist..with full access to a CNC laithe as well as manual laithe...along with everything else in my university's huge machine shop.

Is there much more than boring out the outlet end? If I remember correctly, the turbine actually remains stock on the RB turbos.. could be wrong though.

Any machinists/experiencd turbo guys that can chime in?
Thanks!

I don't doubt that you couldn't do it, but the turbos also have to be rebalanced once they are taken apart (the compressor/turbine shaft itself) and reassembled..just like balancing a wheel and tire. Doing all that work yourself and still having to send them back out to get rechecked and balanced prolly wouldn't save you all that much money.

Cool! Looking forward to more info. I'll probably go with GIAC also once I do my upgrade.

And to the OT: Thanks for your review and have fun driving!

4.1 0-60

Still too early in the game to declare a winner. Still got TONS of data logging left to do.
