Is that through CPU temperature software or by touch?

If by touch, it isn't a surprise. Aluminum absorbs heat better then plastic. You can also probably take into account the thinness of Apple's laptops.

The aluminum does make for a great heat sink. But my Latitude Z is half the width of the MacBook and runs very cool. The solid state hard drive helps, I'm sure.

I set up two 27" iMacs this week. Very impressive. Especially the mouse and keyboard setup. You can easily pick up and carry the whole thing like a suitcase and set it all up in less than a minute. Apple is light years ahead of the rest of the world in that respect. But after two hours in front of that 27" screen, I was bug-eyed. You really need some distance between yourself and the screen with those.

Well I've had my old one for seven years, and I've never had a virus, a crash, blue screen of death or any other glitch. It always works, and the interface is so much easier to use than windows. Die hard windows users will argue that their OS is better, and I'm not here to argue about that. What I can say is that I don't have the energy to stay on top of the PC issue du jour and that Macs make my life simpler.

I also like the looks and feel of the metal computer vs. plasticky ones.

I have an i7 quad core processor on my HP. For lack of a better term, it's the fucking bee's knees. Macbooks are NICE, my sister has one. I'm just not a mac guy, play too many games, and have too many windows - specific programs that I'm used to, plus I'm "techy" enough to always be up to date on anti-virus stuff, so I never have a problem with that. My sister has a $2k macbook though. It's sexy o_O I still want it!

I love the 27" iMac. I finally got my parents to upgrade their 20" iMac G5( which became painfully slow) last December to a 27" iMac Core i7. That thing is a beast. Takes 30 minutes to get through DVD's. And you want to talk about cool, the thing runs a whole lot cooler then any other computer I have used and monitored its temperature. Its normal operating temperature is 104 F. The highest I have seen it go was 150 F. That is light years cooler then the iMac G5( max temp. I have seen was 191 F with normal temps between 135-144 F). It is cooler then my MBP( normally running between 124-127 F). Hell, cooler then my 12" Powerbook(112-117 F).

I love that screen too.

I don't know about baller status, but it was only 200 bucks more than the next lowest version. I couldn't resist
