The horrendous amount of spent rubber on the track will make more of an impact on the race than anything else. And if the 4pm rains come... Look out. Should be an interesting race.

Something I noticed while watching Practice 2.
So Hamilton's front barge board went all flopped in the last quarter of Melbourne and the announcers all thought he just lost the vertical strut that all the other cars have to keep the front of the board in check. Well it seems the MP4-26 doesn't even use that strut. So it wasn't missing in Melbounre it was just never there. Here is a shot from P2.

normally they used to have Qualify sessions delayed broadcast for about 5 minutes...so none of us can really use live timing...

Good job by SV, great Q3. Also glad qualifying is now live, missing the first couple of min is a worth while sacrifice.
Gonna be interesting tomorrow, those tires were looking kinda rough after 1-2 laps Rain could make things fun |

Looking at the results, perhaps. But actually watching Q3 was anything but boring. Hamilton got robbed on the very last lap in the session.

I thought Q3 was very intriguing.
One observation... does Nico Rosberg live in the US or something? He speaks perfect English was nearly zero accent. Pretty impressive.

I recall he's currently living in Monaco...but in his childhood he lived in many other countries and he can speak like six languages

Seems the McLaren is catching up to RB quite nicely. I didnt think they were able to pull back the gap so close. What is happening to Ferrari? Does anyone think Renault might catch up to them soon.

But in all seriousness, Ferrari's development program was quite rapid; they were third quickest at the start/middle of the season, and they managed to yank themselves into being just shy of RBR by around the 2/3rds mark. I think we'll see Renault slowly slip back at the season progresses - but I could be wrong! |

They had KERS, but only used in the beginning of the race, then was told not to use later on. Not sure what actually happened, but could make a huge difference on the start (e.g. Mark Webber).
However I'm not sure if SV did use KERS in the start or not... On the other hand, fantastic race on the Renault, despite an error/accident wiped out Petrov, but both Nick and Vitaly drove a solid race for the team. Especially Heidfeld, the start was jaw dropping and the defending on MW was exceptional!!! I hope to see them bring more surprise between RBR/McLaren/Ferrari...
