Here you go:

You'll need some basic tools, 2 adjustable spanners or 1 and a pair of mole-grips or a vice.

Once you have the gauze out soak it in some strong descaling fluid (I used "Ataka", comes in an orange bottle and Boots usually have it).

I basically soaked all the various parts in the descaler. Once you're happy that it's all clean just give it all a good rinse and put it back together.

Removes most of the muck but as others say you still need to gp over with shampoo/mit afterwards.

I fail to see the benefit of this stage in cleaning a car. Can someone enlighten me? Real world experience rather than those nutcases over at Detailing World?

I find that it loosens and drags off a lot of muck (depending on how dirty your car is). Also the ability to allow the stuff to dwell for a while really does loosen up dried on bugs etc.

I find 90% of the bugs/other dried on crud is gone after a foam and rinse.

This makes the hand-washing stage much easier and means you're dragging less grit and crap over your paintwork and therefore reducing swirls etc.

As TN says it simply a prewash stage that lets you blast away probably 100% of the grit and a lot of the bugs etc. These are the bit that will marr your paint if caught in a mitt or heaven forbid a sponge! All you are left is a layer of grime to wash off by hand therefore much less risk of marking paint. I love it !

It's also quite fun and I find it strangely therapeutic...

So I just gave it a go. I was a bit sceptical about the quantities recommended....1 inch of concentrate + warm water, but that's what I did

Normally the buit-in soap dispensor in my Karcher will use about half a litre of soap per car.

With that 25ml concentrate in the snow blower, I covered a bmw 3 series, a Z4, my driveway 2 garage doors and my own back with a nice thick layer of foam. It was brilliant. The amazing thing was that after all that I only used half the bottle. These things are really econmomical vs PW's own soap system.

The cars came up beautifully clean. All I've now got to figure out is how not to get caught in a blizzard of my own making

Nice website Andrew - how is the detailing business going? Looks like you stock some good lines there.

Can you recommend anything for a slightly scuffed door trim (the textured plastic bit - dark grey or black)? Seems to keep happening in the BM and Landy! Got most areas covered for now but I do use a few of the lines you stock so will check your stuff out when I get low!

Bought the autobrite gun and 5 litres of Magicfoam after reading about it, I was totally blown away with it, left the foam on for 5 mins then power washed off, I was going to wash again but car was to my amazement my car was squeaky clean with no dirty residue when drying.

My car has been polished recently by all the same very impressive

Luckily Autobrite is only about a mile from where I live, so I can pop in and chat while I buy. I've got their foam lance and the dregs of a bottle of their first own-brand snowfoam, but I can't wait to try the magifoam, it looks the absolute canine's cojones

I too have the Autobrite lance and Magicfoam and it is excellent. I washed the F11 today which had lots of flies on the front from a few high speed runs this week and it dissolved them all. You do still need to wash it as usual but it makes it much easier.

Foam had dwelled for 6-7mins prior to taking snap





Cleans up not too bad for a 52 plate

Best thing to use is a bit of diesel, its great for cleaning grease and other crud
