Just got a FX2. I'll do some high altitude runs and see how the thin air affects our vehicles. My NA vehicle was even slower than I expected.

By that, I mean the power loss was expected to be linear with respect to air pressure, but it's even worse!

Will test on the PROcede 335i soon.

Yeah, you and me both. I'd be willing to be that I will be posting a high 12's 1/4 mi. time in the near future (same road, same conditions, etc.).

Once the remote switcher comes out, this will be relatively easy to do... just switch to a stock map then back to a tuned map.

Exclamation MPG question

With moderate to decently aggressive driving what kind of MPG are you getting now? Don't use the computer on the car, that is only an immediate reading. What I'd like to hear is the average at the end of a tank of gas by how-many-gallons-to-the-miles-driven method. It's important to me since i drive 30,000 a year.

NewHouse,
Your mpg will be the same/slightly improve if you stay off boost. Regular driving. But if you drive with a lead foot like me your gas mileage will go down.

Pretty good times and probably pretty accurate.
I ran at a drag strip and got basically the exact same time with my PROceded automatic Sedan:
13.03 @107.6 (uncorrected at 635 feet elevation)
12.96 @ 108.1 (corrected for just elevation)

And that was with just 91 Octane crappy California gas.

You are on 93 Octane in Flordia and pretty close to sea level I'm sure.
So I'd say you should be able to get a tenth or so better yet with the 93 Octane tune (5-10 hp more than 91 Octane) and lighter Coupe, as well as being at sea level.

Those little devices are relatively accurate, but they often read a bit fast in the trap speed as a true drag strip measures the speed as an average over the last 60 feet or so.

You need to take that accelerometer to a NHRA certified drag strip to see how accurate it really is though. I'd guess it to be about .1 second and .5-1 mph optimistic to a sanctioned drag strip. That's pretty much what every test of those devices shows to be.

A great time to do your testing is when you need to take your car in for an oil change or servicing. Run it with Procede on and then run it with it off before taking it in to the dealer....

Who says I'm taking it off when I go in for an oil change? My car is going in tomorrow for the Navi Progman V.25.02 s/w update tomorrow; not taking it off then either as all they're supposed to do is plug into my OBD port inside the car.

Nice improvement in trap speed. I am still hoping to see more trap 110+ like Shivs did.

Thank you.

I think the 110mph 1/4 mi. trap speed is definitely possible, with a great launch and perfect shifting points (using the Paddles Shifters). btw -- for those wondering, my 0-60mph time came from my 1/4mi. timed run (as opposed to some ppl that have been doing just 0-60mph timed runs; all my runs have been timed during the full 1/4 mi.). Also, if it's any indication of what kind of launches I've been able to do, my 60ft. times are ~ 1.85-1.95 sec.

So, I really think that ultimately, I can get it down to 4.4 sec. 0-60mph and 12.8 sec. @ 110mph 1/4 mi.; based on my experiences so far, I think those numbers with just the PROcede and non-RFTs are a very challenging but attainable goal.

The shift points will have a big effect on trap speed. I just wonder how many are trying to wind it all the way to 7K. Judging from dynos, it seems less than ideal.

How much tire spin do you get when you launch? I can't seem to keep them from spinning but I have never been a 1/4 mile driver.

Not too much at all; the Michelin PS2s do wonders. Plus, you also can't just floor it; it's more of an attenuating start; then once it grabs...floor it without hitting that damn step button, and you'll go, go, go.

DS/ManuMatic Mode (M1), 1 quick push of the DTC button (which turns DTC ON), left foot on the brake, rev to ~ 1,500rpm, start in M1 using the Paddles (if you've got an 6AT), and for God's sake...HOLD ON (with both hands)!!! You'll probably only use M1 - M5 for the 1/4 mi. ending ~ 105mph - 110mph.

As soon as my Beltronics unit gets here I am going to head over to California Speedway. I was thinking of LACR but everyone is telling me that the track sucks for speed runs.
