Why does anyone "want" any particular color? Personal preference. The older I get [early 30's now] the more I realize that I am somewhat unique in that I don't give a flying flip what anyone else thinks in terms of the choices that I make for myself. To me, for whatever reasons [doesn't really matter why] the specific wavelength that dark green occupies within the visible spectrum appeals to me. This color is [to me] interesting, sophisticated, subdued, and yet bold within that self-same reserve. Not that it matters to me but the simple fact that BMW offers this as a standard color on their highest volume vehicle would seem to suggest that I am not the only one to find Dark Green an appealing color. I could ask why anyone would choose the absence of any color [white] or the totality of all colors within the spectrum [black]. I don’t ask those questions because they are irrelevant. Hopefully people choose colors that appeal to them. Of course some choose colors based on what they think that other people think. In either case why would I care why anyone else chose any other particular color? |

That sold me on the Poplar w/beige. Outstanding! IMO that is the hot interior with the deep colors (Monaco blue, Mystic blue, LeMans blue, dark green), white, and maybe even arctic. Almost looks British though, like a Jaguar.

Congrats on the new car!
IMO Deep Green is abit greener than Boston Green. BG has a blue hue to it, which isn't my cup of tea. My fav BMW green is Fern Green. But DG is definitely very nice. |

A Few New Pics [ Deep Green 330i]
Here are a few new pics.
The late afternoon sun plays havoc with contrast and shadows and highlights but it also reveals the lines of the car really well. |

oh wow. thats MUCH better than what I thought.
Very rich, luxury green. I like it. Is it yours? man.. BMW must have had major headaches making the green color to look that good.

If Oxford was a 'grass' green then this is more of a 'forrest' green. |

I do indeed know British Racing Green. This is a bit more 'sap' green and less 'olive' than BRG. As for tinting - no. I bought the shade package and that helps a lot. I also use a removable front shade. I for one have never liked the look of dark tinting, just a personal thing I guess. I am also haunted by the horrible tint jobs that I have seen friends receive over the years. You can't argue with the cooler interior [and ease] that results from having a fully tinted car though... |
