OP, it sounds like you just got the car pretty recently. If so, give it some time and keep playing with the many adjustments your seats offer. I find them exceptionally comfortable, even after a few hours behind the wheel, but it took some experimenting to get them adjusted to where they really felt just right. One thought: If you have the lower cushion adjusted kind of flat (as it is with most other cars), try setting it on more of an angle and see if that helps at all.

Here's a thought for OP: consider....adjusting the seat in some more radical ways. Like tilt the front up quite a bit, extend out the knee extensions way out, etc.
Experiment. EDIT: I see R608 beat me to it.

OP, if you have the sports pkg seats, your seat still might have air inflated in them. depending on people, air makes the seat more firm and unconfortable, like you are being sqeezed.
i personally let all the air out. to let air out, press the button (4 way button - North south east west) thats on right side (east) if you are outside looking in / direction of rear of the car and it will let the air out. you need to play around with it. i went to long trips with my car and i am very comfortable in it. |

I agree with those who advise to play with the seat adjustments.
Three days after trading my Mercedes C-class on a BMW M-Sport, I took an 11-hr trip (each way) to a family wedding. I found the BMW Sport seats were more comfortable than the ones in the Benz - with no soreness anywhere during/after the 11 hours. (I'm 5'-11" ~215lbs) My thought is that the bottom cushion is angled down too low in the front - putting all of the weight/stress onto the bones in the posterior. I would bet if you support your legs better (tilt the seat front up and extend the extension forward), it will make the situation better. Good luck. P.S. - Get that thick wallet out of your back pocket when you go on extended trips! |

![]() I'm a skinny guy (5'/9", 138 lb.) with a boney butt, and I find my sport seats to be extremely comfy. They have lots of adjustments, however, and you have to set them up properly to achieve the comfort. One quick suggestion: try tilting your seat bottom down instead of up. |

Hard seats are more comfortable than soft ones for long trips. Think about the seat of a racing bike or the car seat used in the 24 hours of Le Mans, for example. Correct adjustment is essential (i admit that I adjust mine sometimes during long trips to increase/change circulation a bit) but overall, the BMW seats are one of the most comfortable out there, if you ask me... |

^+1, it's all about adjustments. Our seats are well designed, you just have to adjust them so that your weight is spread evenly.

Ah man, I love my BMW sport seats! I'm 6'1 an 175 lbs. Long drives are no longer tests of endurance with these beauties.
I guess seats are like mattresses; firm or plush? |

not really
if you don't have sport package, and lack lumbar support -- it can annoy some people who need the support BMW seats are good...but they ain't no S class or Porsche, Porsche seats are sport/incredibly comfy and supportive. |

Love my sports seats. Great for long drives IMO. Broken in @ 40K miles, but not too mushy still.
I particularly love the adjustable side bolsters. Nothing like your car being able to give you a hug. (Hummmmmmm. I need a life.) |
