Should probably have been "What's Darien, Conn. coming to?". Or maybe "What's Connecticut coming to?" Or even "What's this country coming to?"
But what does a bunch of car thieves in Darien, Conn. have to do with this world as a whole is beyond me. |

That's the dealer I've been bringing my BMW's to for years. That's a little worrying..

How naive can you be to think that they don't have multiple dealings with transport companies, border patrols, etc, etc. Organized crime isn't the regular joe trying to make a quick buck. |

One of them was mine.
My 2010 X5m was in for service...never to be seen again.
That was definitely an interesting phone call. I am hoping the dealer makes good on their promise of covering ALL of my personal items in the car as well as an amazing deal on something new. If not, everyone will hear about it. |

I am not a troll...this thread came up on Google as I was compiling stories about the incident and I figured I would create an account and post. I picked it up on 2/9/10 @ the Performance Center and it was definitely the best car I ever had. Almost too fast - but made you smile every second you drove it (except when getting gas!) and the handling just defied the laws of physics. It will be missed...and someone in Brazil will be having a great time with this thing.

What people are most interested in is the primary issue: how are they replacing your lost car. Does the dealer (meaning: the dealer's insurance) get you an equivalent vehicle? Or are they expecting your own insurance to get you an equivalent car, while the dealer only pays for your deductible? |

In my case the vehicle was leased, and their insurance is going to be handling paying it off.
So as far as I can tell at this point my insurance is not going to be used at all. Last edited by former_x5m_owner; 08-28-2012 at 02:22 AM.. |
