Sub 13's was definitely doable for the V2 guys. Hell, I did 13.1 and I know I had a little more in it with just JBS2 and catback exhaust. You just have to have a decent launch and you can't rev too high when launching. Once I have my VIP intake, UR HFC DP, and JB2H or the Helix, I will swap tires or buy new wheels altogether. I just can't justify spending that much money for PS2's. There has to be a similar option for less money.

My 2nd choice in non-RFTs were the less expensive Falken FK-452s...check them out, or some other ppl have gone with the even cheaper General UHPs, I believe. If can spend the $$ though, the Mich. PS2s (>$1,300 for the set) are great!

$1300 for rubber. I just had a heart attack. I'll look into some other options. Before anything, I just need an even run with my friend's M3 just to make sure I can walk him decently.

I'll be running the General's soon, I'll let you know how I like them. I managed a 12.8 w/ my car on the RFT, so I can't wait to see what more HP and better rubber will do. Only mod is V1.47 during that run. Now have Helix intercooler, custom exhaust in shortly, UR HFC, V2, Intake on the way.

What intake do you have on the way? I'm going to do the same mods as you, except for V2 and the IC replacement. I'm just going to have VIP customize mine - saves the weight and gives it the efficiency of an aftermarket IC.

You get what you pay for. If you can afford to drive a $50k car (and then you spend more money on mods), you should be able to afford some decent tires, but yes, I do agree with you that the Mich. PS2s are expensive tires.

Just my humble opinion but I dont think you need tires if your car is AUTO.

Edit. Were are the videos posted?

Marcos:

Check out the first post and scroll down to the bottom of it (the first post). Both your runs are there.

I'd like to thank Marcos, fll335's son, for filming all of these runs while fll335 and I were driving. Can't wait to go with you guys again!

fll335,

The way I see it, tires are beneficial for both MT and AT applications. They're great so we can launch at higher RPMs and get better 60' times, thus getting better times on the track. If I had stickier tires, I could have launched at maybe 1900 RPM instead of 1600 for example...thus having more torque off the line since my tires will hook up under the extra power.

Well, DRs of course for the strip, but for everyday driving, non-RFT street tires like the Mich. PS2s FTW (and they're not even that bad at the track either...big difference vs. oem RFTs)!

I always thought OP means original post or original poster or something similar. This damn site got me all hooked on acronyms and abbreviating and now my friends make fun of me for saying 'delete'....like you 'delete' your resonators/cats.

Here is my run in the left lane (it was my 13.2 run):
