GP Thunder:

WeissLight:

- These have an innovative design but again they are dim, and really don't look very good at all.

City Vision 6 watt:

- These are more or less the same as WeissLight, and they would be considering they use very similar LEDs in different positions.

Angel iBright 3.0

- These use an inovative design and hands down the most powerful single LED on the market. A single SSC P7 chip. These are the most even and extremely bright. The SSC P7 chip is used in LED headlights, 1 chip per headlight so it's bright, but the main selling point is that they are even.

MSD H8 Lux

- These are my favorite LED angel eyes because they are the brightest and have the best color. They use 4 LED chips per bulb which are extremely high output chips as well. The chips that MSD uses overall put out more output than the Angel iBright ones, assuming Angel iBright doesn't overdrive their LED the output is about 40% more on the H8 Lux setup. (keep in mind that brightness is logarithmic)

If anyone is considering buying ANY led bulb replacement besides the H8 or Angel iBright, you're crazy. Especially if you're thinking of buying anything off ebay. All the other solutions are much too dim and use cut rate hardware.

Currently I was pretty satisfied with both the Lux H8 kit and the Angel iBright kit. I only switched to the Lux kit because I received a faulty kit from a member and ended up returning it. No LED bulb solution is going to be as bright as the OEM 2011 setup, BUT the OEM solution actually has weird coloration to it and is too bright so it doesn't look as good as it could in person.

I've decided to move onto an even brighter kit. I foresee the likes of the new LS3 kit and OSS kit being as bright as necessary but I don't like how you can still see each LED. I feel like they may not look as even in person as I want so I plan to add a ring of wax paper around the LEDs to diffuse them. We'll see what happens.

Hope that's been informative.
Thanks so much for the great words about the LUX H8 Kit. As for a comparison with the AIB Kit, yes thie kit is quite impressive as well , as you mentioned. In terms of brightness however, LUX H8 is much brighter due to the newer technology being used in the LED's. I dont know how much light is actually being produced by the AIB Kit. According to some tests, and the manufacturer's datasheets and the " typical brightenss" of each LED, i would expect LUX H8 to be at least 25% - 30% brighter then AIB

I guess the next question is which one do you get more bang for the buck? AngeliBright or the LUX H8?

Some other systems have had problems with newer as well as very early 07 builds.

AiB is fully compatible with all e92 pre-LCI models, including M3.

How soon?

Might it possibly be installation-related? I've been waiting on something new.

For what its worth... I have the WeissLicht kit and they are rather dim. I do wish I had spent a bit more for the Lux (penny-wise, pound foolish). Additionally, one of the bulbs just failed after only 9 months of use. Sure, its still under warranty, but now I have to change it out which we all know is one royal pain in the a....

I understand the Weisslicht kit and the City Visions are rather similar but there are slightly different. Weisslicht wouldn't work on E90 LCI's and City Visions work because their LED bulbs having similar power, share different designs.

Direct Sunlight. im impressed the rings are still lit!

wow, one long confusing thread lol.

Since I'm new to this bmw thing, I always wanted angel eyes and since they are factory on my 07 335xi I want to of course replace the bulb. After reading all the pages, I am still confused on what to get. I would like super white, visible in both day time and night time. As far as I understood I should be looking in to purchasing the OSS.

Were can I purchase the OSS?

I was also looking in to installing 6000k HID kit in to the Angel Eyes, is that recommended?

Thank you for any suggestions.

Oss angels takes a dump on everything. Got mine finished yesterday by luis (he is the man) and since I'm local to him it was a painless transaction.

I had AIB v3.0 before OSS and they burned out sadly. I had them only for about a year. They were a nice plug and play's but for the price ($300) they should have lasted long IMO.

EDIT: My avatar is with the AIB , so everyone can get an idea. I would take pictures of the OSS's but my iphone 4 can't pick them up too bright.
