I like the multiple temp gauges. Far too often manufacturers omit these because of "cost cutting" measures. My M2 didn't have an oil temp gauge nor did my 987 S. I had to retrofit one in.

One day I'll own a Datsun 240z, in the meantime I've owned 90 300zx and 370z Nismo, so clearly I'm both an M and Z enthusiast.
That said, Z has always been a good bang for your buck kind of sports car, but this time around, IMO, I prefer the exterior and interior look of the Supra. Though perhaps the Nismo edition may have some sweet aero kit. |

I still think Lexus F dash layout is the best blend of analog and digital. The M2 comp gauges are great as well. |

It looks good. Will look better in dark gray and black.
Not only it's a 6MT, but it comes with a real handbrake, too. I hate those POS electric brakes. Why I won't buy a CTR. |

I agree they are not ideal, but you are missing out on some fun cars. My CTR and SS 1LE were among my favorite cars and both had electronic e-brakes.

It's not cost cutting especially in an era where LCD real estate is free. Today's driver is less mechanically inclined as ever when it comes to automobiles and simply don't understand that coolant temperature is always constantly fluctuating with thermostat opening/closing, ambient conditions, spirited driving, etc. Manufactures like Honda started putting in major dead band into temp gauges in the 80/90's so they would essentially move from cold at start and stay exactly in the middle while running rendering it a glorified idiot light. Now some just omit the gauge for blue and red idiot lights. Manufacturers don't want service departments wasting time on trivial things like this and don't want you bringing the car in unless there's an actual overheating condition.

And I thought the G8x reveal was slow.

Worth the wait? It's not like its a new car. We already know what it is. It's a 370Z with an existing Infinity engine. Go drive a 370Z and imagine it with a bit of a power bump and that's what this car is. If you are expecting more than that you are likely to be disappointed.

I've had a few Z's in my time. 1991 turbo and a supercharged track edition 03. I'm getting a huge Mustang vibe from the back? Am I crazy? That's not a good thing. LOL

Not crazy, there are some similarities, but I see the rear of the new Z as a modern interpretation of the Z32. Slightly different angles in this pic, but from the top of the decklid, up, the Z mirrors the GT/370Z more, and what's left is more modern, redesigned 300ZX to me. I really like what they did with the rear on the new Z.
