Yeah, a friend is going to go with me to pick it up (I'm assuming that I'll be able to pick it up tomorrow or Saturday) and I expect to be spending the weekend getting all the manuals read.
I have to admit...I'm a little nervous about having a $45,000 car being the first one I drive with hand controls. |

Oh, plus another thing you guys. I was always curious with how many miles were going to be on my car. I was hoping for anything less than 10 and there were only 2 miles! I didn't have my camera with me so I snapped a cel pic. I have no idea how to upload the cel pic to my computer though.

I read all of my manuals in the airplane from Munich...I memorized them! I have to drop off the car for clear-bra installment and get an extra day of delay (like I really need one). Nice thing is that next Monday I am also picking up my restored 1829 Violoncello (German too ), and also just bought a new bow! So, nice presents for me next week! Hehe, I actually bought BMW so my cello can have one fine ride... |

By the time I took delivery in Utah, it had gained another ten miles (some of that mileage was mine on the autobahn in Germany.) |

mileage from port hueneme to processing center
Was about 1 mile if they drive the cars from the boat to the processing center, which it looked like they do. Surely must be easier than loading on a truck for such a short distance...

I got a ride this evening and was able to go to Long Beach BMW and pick up my new car.
I have to tell you, it is extremely difficult to have a really cute chick sitting next to me explaining how the car works and try to absorb so much information during the same time. All through that my fiancee was sitting in the back seat looking on. I took two pictures will my mobile phone but I was having trouble getting those into my computer. When I figure out or when I have time to fetch my digital camera I will post some pictures here. This has been a very easy car buying process. So I have to applaud Will for his job well done. |

Mine is Black Sapphire. Under strong sun light such as today it looks almost dark gray with metallic sparkle. The interior is terra leather with light wood trim. I originally ordered terra lether with aluminum trim but I think BMW messed it up and installed wood trim instead. However it worked out pretty well.
I drove it to and from work today. Very cool. |

Picked up my car at 1100 today from Palm Springs BMW. Took a ride to Joshua Tree National Monument and snapped some photos. Loving the car so far.
My CA gave us a set of BMW keychains (a heart shaped one my wife loved) and a couple nice BMW insulated coffee cups. Great service. I would highly recommend CA Tom Odell. Hope the rest of you get your cars soon. |
