On step 17 for button 1 I'm stuck where it says to browse the location of my daten. When I go to e89 I have all the folders except "work". I rechecked the zip and it doesn't contain the "work" folder?

I'm still stuck on my current issue lol I'm afraid to continue without the "work" folder. Don't wanna chance anything ducking uocand being a waste of time. Think if I can't figure it out or if someone can chime in then I'll just opt for the Carly app and wifi one connector.

Hi Guys,

Any idea why I get Error Compiling Script File in INPA? I selected E90, then Engine and ALL DDE 7.x N47. I even tried changing this line ENTRY=DDE7N47.IPO, ALL DDE 7.x N47 in E90.eng since I have exactly that file but no luck.

Cheers,
Peter from EU

I have reinstalled this program 4 times now and have followed the instructions. Everytime I try to load my DDE files in INPA I get an error.

The message displays as follows:

Group file: D_MOTOR
IFH-0018: INITIALIZATION ERROR.
Program will be stopped!

Does anyone know the cause of this?

Win10, 64 bit, running in compatability mode as suggested by the instructions and all of the daten files loaded successfully. I don't know what it could be....

EvanTheBruce, do you have two black dots in INPA once you connect to your BMW? This error indicates communication issues. Do you have a correct COM port setup?

Ok after searching through some forums found out that your suppose to use the INPALOAD app. Go to your c drive open EC-APPS>INPA>BIN>INPALOAD. Tested it out and it worked for me.

Thumbs up

I did the install per the instructions. everything seems to have gone ok and is launching in good order -yay ! (inpa locked a couple of times when running it but oh well). I appreciated the post as requested... but seems the OP is gone/banned. Really ?

some q's:
- the results extracted in inpa seem to be still in German, see example below. Is that normal, I guess because the car is German-made ? As with the mileage, which is reported in km.
" Readines Flag: (16 ) Testbedingungen erfüllt
errorstatus: (32 ) Fehler momentan nicht vorhanden, nicht OBD-entprellt "
- after extracting the data (E89.rar, BMW Standard Tools.7z) and running the install sequence, I assume we can delete the resulting folders. yes ?
- OP has also an archive posted that doesn't seem to get used, called "INPA Fxx.rar" . I read the txt file in it but I'm still unclear as to what this is needed for.

and a couple of deeper ones :
- are these tools the same as ISTA/D & ISTA/P, or not ?
- being a newbie, can anyone point me to the procedure to reset the DME ? (no, not the adaptations, I want DME back to factory settings)

Why would you think the DME is not at factory specs.
You do not want to mess with that if its working unless you know
it has a tune which tune it has and what the vendor of the tune
does to install or uninstall it.
ista is a different program than the inpa set but it uses the
edibas folder for some of its functions.
The Daten files are used by both Inpa and Ista for the software level
and updates by year and model number.
If you look at Wildcatcrazys links you will see massive requests
for updated daten sets it must have driven him Wildcatcrazy.

There is no totally English version of Inpa but ista has an all English
version and with the full database is essentially a shop manual to.

Inpa and its associated programs are a hacker engineering tool
it can do things ista can't.

Ista is what BMW used for many years at the dealership its
a high level program and database. Its easy to use all in English.
(well relatively easy to use)
Ista d diagnotics ista p programming

I have been chasing a low-rpm hesitation / engine shutdown problem for years. Replaced many components with nothing to show for it. I have at least 2 leads, incl a local bimmer guru, that solved their similar or somewhat similar issues with resetting DME to defaults. Not for tuning reasons.

Good to know. But from what I read the Tool32 included here can do some of the ISTA stuff...

I get that. I just wanted to confirm that after the importing in Step17, button 5/6, the originally extracted data can be deleted. And also was wondering what the posted "INPA Fxx.rar" was used for ?

The DATEN v60 link provided in the download is still current/correct. That account is banned permanently, so I can no longer use that account for anything.

Everything works perfect except for inpa. I'm getting a "compiling script error" after pressing f2 for e90 and selecting something like airbag module.

Anyone know why?

So on to my question i ordered a grey KDCAN cable and I'm trying to clear the history errors on my 07 335i but i get an FTDI error could it be that i need a new cable if so does someone have a reliable vendor or can post a link of where to order one? Thanks!

I think I screwed up!!

First of all, thanks for putting this package together!

I think I messed up my very first coding job. I was attempting to code in a new battery from the stock 70Ah to 80Ah. Changed the battery values in VO then proceeded to code CAS module with 80Ah value. I missed the step where the FSW_PSW.TRC gets renamed to FSW_PSW.MAN. I ended up coding the car with the existing MAN file that was in the folder. Looks like the MAN file in the work folder did have the battery value to 80Ah but I have no idea what other settings might not be compatible with my 2011 335xi.
