Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the N54 is a lesser platform. I think it's got more potential than the N55, but in terms of people looking for a solution like this (flash at home, flash back to stock) there are a TON of people that want this. Additionally, of those with the N54 that want to mod, the majority have already done so with Procede and JB. At this point, I think only a small percentage of those would see enough of a benefit to make the switch. Last edited by atlharry; 01-10-2011 at 01:13 PM.. |

From a PM i had with Rob, and I quote: "Getting your ROM from you once I am a little further along in the N55 process would be very helpful. For now I have a couple of local N55s to work with."
So they are already working with N55's.

Don't over read. He said "to work with" not "working on"

They've said as much. Looks to me like they want to build a complete offering for N54 before moving on to euro spec and other platforms. It's not surprising. They're managing what they can manage. I've heard Rob already asking for a cloning machine. Development like this takes time. The fact that they've released a great stage 1 flash doesn't necessarily mean anything for other platforms. |

I've noticed another firmware update for the AP today-- 1.6.3.2-1115. I applied 1111 on Friday but haven't had time to drive my car and see how the monitors have been updated yet. Looks like there's an option to add/hide certain monitors now, both in the live list and in the data log.

I just updated the first post in the thread with a new Frequently Asked Question document. Most of your concerns and questions regarding AccessPORT support and functionality are addressed there!
That said, please continue to bring us your questions! We are more than happy to answer any concerns or queries you have and we will continually update the FAQ with new information as we collect and process it! As for N55 support, we do not have an ETA on availability of the AccessPORT for N55 vehicles at this time. Our current priority is to provide our full-tuning-solution for the twin-turbo N54 equipped 1, 3 and 5 series BMW's. While some development has begun on the N55, there is a lot left to do on the N54 before we put significant focus on the N55. Travis COBB Tuning |

Thanks for the FAQ update, useful stuff!
For the EU, Gulf support. I believe GIAC is using the same flash for the whole world, but we are happy to see difference map to suit each region. I am also happy to send you logging and feedback when I get the AP for 07! |

Cobb-
Can you comment on another members post in this thread? http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...7&postcount=87 I was just curious myself so I did some research on the mazdaspeed3/6 forums and it would appear that Cobb did have a shaky start with that platform. One post I did find had me a little concerned if BMW's ecu had the same protocols in detecting tampering. Can you comment about the part where ecu has mileage driven/reflash? Originally Posted by*Travis@Cobb* I brought this issue up to our engineers who have intimate knowledge of internal ECU code on the*MS3/6. As far as we have ever been able to determine, there is no*flash*counter*of any kind that exists on any car we deal with. That is, the ECU does not track if it has been flashed and how many times it has been flashed. However, Subaru apparently has told their tech line to "detect reflashes" by reading the OBD-II parameter for time since/miles driven since last ECU reset. This is a standard OBD parameter. Theory being if a car comes in a few miles off a reset then likely they just returned the ECU to stock. It's a reach, but enough to scare some people. However it's not an actual*flash*counter. The only parameter that we have found that the*MS3*ECU stores is maxiumum vehicle speed, which get's reset any time the ECU is reset. Again, we have been reflashing various ECUs for many years now and this has never been conclusively proven that once the ECU is returned to stock, the dealer or the manufacturer can look at an ECU and then pinpoint a reflash has been done.* If you have warranty concerns we recommend first talking to your service manager. Often times they are willing to overlook some things. If they are not and you have other mazda dealers in your area, shop for a mod-friendly service manager. Secondly, don't leave the AccessPORT or drag slips or window chalk on or in your car, this at least will allow a friendly manager to overlook any obvious signs of unsanctioned abuse. If you don't give them a reason to suspect anything, then perhaps they won't go looking for a reason to void your warranty!* Travis COBB*Tuning Granted we are talking about a completely different platform and none of this could apply but I would still like confirmation for the peace of mind. The obvious selling point for the AP is full DIY flash capability and it being invisible to dealers. How much testing went into the n54 AP in terms of reliability and dealer diagnostic invisibility? Thanks, Alan

Looks pretty slick, great to see yet another tuning option for the N54.
Can I resale this to someone else later or is it tied to your vin, I'm assuming the AP hand held device is what Im paying for since the maps are free? Thanks,

As long as you uninstall aka Un-Marry the AccessPORT from your vehicle prior to selling, yes you can.
