What are you trying to spend?

I have titanium silver on oyster msport. Probably not for sale, but at today’s market I won’t say I wouldn’t sell.

1 of 4 msport with active cruise. 1 of 1 xdrive, auto, msport in that color combo. Has icc, heated seats. New bumpers. Needs nothing.

Where do you get the number of vehicles with a given spec? I'd like to know how many of mine are out there.

As for suspension, I would definitely recommend the Bilstein/Eibach kit. That's what I have and I LOVE it...

Enjoy! Love the Tasman... My 2nd favorite color next to Bluewater.
Does jeremi do bodywork too or something? Interested in manual swap and bumpers myself...

Seems there are 3 bluewater e91s in my area (Philly suburbs). One around the corner from my apartment, and I met a woman at the store today who had one. She said she parked next to me a few weeks ago but left before I came back. Getting all 3 together would be a rare gathering haha

It's not 100% accurate.. I was told that my car was 1 of 2 in my color and I found 3 E91 wagon of same color and year for sale on FB marketplace:. Still 1 of 4 wagon in Barrique Red for the US in 2007.. My wife would really bury me in the backyard if I spend $12k to buy the other 3.

Thanks. Do you happen to have a link or recall which forum and thread? My search phrasing have been unsuccessful.

Just gives me an excuse to swap the bumpers to M-Sport...

I am so impressed when people can see these changes in color shades. Any tips for us novices?

Just look for...
  • Color/texture differences in the paint across body panels is the first thing to look for. The bumper on the bluewater is a different shade of blue.
  • Clearcoat blending. Usually on the pillars of the car in the back because if the rear 1/4 panel has been painted, they have to blend it somewhere. This will often show up as a hazy area especially after some aging.
  • Inclusions in the paint. If there is a chunk of something in the paint its more than likely not factory. Deep scratches that are color/cleared over as well.
  • Check door jambs for blending or hard tape lines.
  • Lips near any rubber molding. IF the person painting was lazy then they tape it off and there will be an edge to the clear coat/color. Common on doors along the window seal.

Of course I say that and I still can't tell if the poor color match on one area of my car is because it was painted... Looks perfect in direct sunlight.

Jupiter any plans for your existing bumpers....? :-)

Haha! To be honest, the drivers side corner mount on the front bumper is damaged, and the side marker doesn't stay in perfectly... The rear bumper I had no plans for. It has some less than perfect work done on top, so I was really planning to just trash them both.

Good response above. I just look for a tell of some type and then follow it up. For example, the front of the hood on a car with 70k miles should not be perfect. It should have the same kind of road / rock abrasion marks as the front bumper cover. If one looks perfect, you know something is up. If it looks perfect but you can feel chips, again, you know something is up. Ditto for door edges.

Then I look for shop wear. You can't pull a hood, door, or front fender without pulling fasteners. Each time a wrench hits a fastener, you can see the mark. So I check for shop wear on fasteners.

Next, as mentioned above, I look for differences in clear coat texture (orange peel). Compare a new GM vehicle to a new BMW and you'll see a massive difference in clear coat texture. If I see a variation on a BMW, I look closer.

Then- shade / color temp. Silver is especially difficult to match- so you can often see a differentiation in one panel. If I spot that, I look closer. Color temp is easier for some people to spot than others.

Finally- the tool that tells no lies: The Paint Meter. Local independent shop recently claimed a hood had been painted on an otherwise perfect car. Paint meter revealed 4.0 over the entire hood- so the independent really did not know what they were talking about- they were just talking crap.

Cheap 2006 325xi with low miles in a nice color. New Hampshire.

Kind of want it...

Edit: Low miles incorrect. But ~100k and looks nice.
