My ex and i left for my parents cabin at Christmas night, and the next morning a pipe broke there. During the holidays in the countryside there were no hope to find a plumber or parts, ao i made a temporary fix for the problem with condoms, a coin, and we got the water out from the hard spots with tampons. After that, when ever someone has a disaster in their hands, my first thought is to send tampons, condoms and lube.

I do understand that those won't exactly fix Florida any time soon, but at least it would either help with the plumbing, or mood.

Yeah, my alternative methods of using them does explain why i have so many pairs of shoes next to my front door. I better not send anything.

Listen, I know most people agree that picking up the phone, donating $50 to FEMA, Red Cross and the like is the most logical thing to do. However, this hit home pretty close to me and I wish I could just drive down, meet people who are in need and offer my support. I am not looking for free handouts, medals, etc... I am just a person who wants to help people in dire straights. To me, driving down and giving in person means more to me than picking up the phone and handing out my CC # to one of those agencies. I just find this frustrating that it seems that these people are forgotten.

DSS have Maryland Reg BMW's in the fleet so he gets credit for that. Unfortunately DSS have no independent jurisdiction on US Soil unless accompanied and DoS support certification presented to a LEO agency with arrest and investigation auth. So minus 5000pts for that. He's somehow attached to the Brazilian Consul so it will be another headline. There's been a significant increase in shady things in that area over the past 10 months.

In any given disaster, whether it's a car crash, hurricane or a burning building, 9/10 people panic, and become pretty much useless. The ability think logically just completely vanishes and it's up to the rest to give clear directions on how to act, what to do.

Looters clearly can function efficiently and they choose to spend their time inflicting more pain to the people who are already in pain. They seek for personal gain while others try to help the mass of people handling the first disaster. In my eyes, to be able to function in a crisis, and choosing to do evil with the ability is an act of a vile person and i have no sympathy to them.

Manatees are cute.

These guys get Oscars for just plain stupidity. I live on an guarded island with 3 former heads of state, current diplomats, athletes, and a dozen screen and music celebrities as neighbors (Secret Service and Miami Beach Police Officers are on duty 24/7 and their check point is 120' from my driveway). Not quite sure what they expected to achieve with that type of presence. Ok bougie off.

That's one thing that troubles me. The exponential growth of shitheads and the endless gratification they're given with the way the we communicate today. Have to protect the kids and preserve some semblance of empathy before things go so far out of hand nothing short of immense catastrophe could impact reform.

There's still goodness in the world including you and the friends I've made IRL through forums like this. The ambiguity is a selfish bonus that masks the identity of some amazing members we have here.

I swear i should be working but it's not raining, markets are holding so why bother! Climbing trees with the monkey boys is more fun.

You nailed it. We get too much, we expect too much and it's always me, myself and I who needs it fist. We truly do not seem to understand that closing our eyes from the pain of others will bite us in the ass in the long run.

We old grumpy people just assume the future will be worse, since the kids of 70's and 80's turned out pretty bad. Our parents did everything for us, which means we left the nest without any basic skills, and sometimes i think it made my generation extra selfish. We survived the horror of having to learn something our moms can do means we deserve nothing but the best.

I try to tell my kids about all the good things that are happening in the world. For example with your hurricanes i let them read the news and i left out the looters mostly and pressed that there were people thousands of miles away who went to help, because at times everyone needs a push. As naive as it seems to many, i truly believe hatred and bitterness are as easy to grow as is goodness. We are now a world of darkness since nothing good makes the news if not with a disaster causing the reaction, and that needs a bit of work.

I agree with you, we have here epic members with kind hearts. As horrible as the world of today often feels like, reading this forum does keep the hope up often, since we are supposed to be the shitheads of the world.

If we ever do an other Christmas goat run, we'll come after your wallet too for sure but you clearly are already aware of things and our tiny effort was mainly to bring awareness. We did send a hundred goats to third world countries, which means there probably are now hundreds of goats running around because of car dorks.
