CSF makes quality products but I'd stay away from anything that re-uses the restrictive OEM connectors. We discontinued our 5" stepped with OEM connectors for a reason

The BMS Race, PSP 900, and VRSF 7.5 race are all somewhat similar at the end of the day.
VRSF 7.5 race gets my vote and is what I use, I say this from everything I have seen/read. I really like the PSP products especially their outlet pipe. I am sure you could ask Dusty @ PSP why his IC comes standard with a 2.5 up pipe(vs. vrsf 3'' standard) but website says a 3'' is available...but the stock outlet is 3''? Why would your default IC be 2.5 in -> 3'' out -> 2.5 outlet J pipe -> 3'' chargepipe? It makes no sense. BMS Race seems good, I don't like that it is painted and I have seen overspray in pictures. I don't understand why it is 2.5'' in vs. 3''. I know this is not a huge deal as most turbos and outlet pipes end up at around 2.5'' but 3'' in and out is standard on most platforms for a high end IC. At the end of the day all will likely perform about the same but the VRSF seems to be the best, with the most positive reviews, and it is used on the n54 cars that break and make the n54 records. Tiago is also super helpful. At the end of the day the IC is a heatsink/heat exchanger. Given the space you can only do so much. You don't want to be too restrictive and you also don't want to be so much less of a restriction you limit the ICs ability to cool. The VRSF seems to be the best of bost worlds. Obviously get what makes the most sense to you and your budget. I would suggest the VRSF race for reasons stated above. While I have installed VRSf race parts on friend's cars(and they all performed flawlessly in fit and finish and most importantly execution aka powah) and I know a ton of people like their products, the race IC is the only VRSF part on my car. Just want to be clear that my review is not 'that' biased. I have not used the other ICs mentioned above. The VRSF race IC fits perfect and is a beast in appearance and function.

Each VRSF FMIC utilizes CFD modeled, precision cast end tanks in order to minimize pressure drop & response (lag). Our latest revision of our 5" stepped FMIC which now features our HD fin pack offers better intake temp control in comparison to the OEM FMIC without adding any noticeable lag or transient response.
Regardless of the downpipes you're running, a properly engineered/balanced internal and external fin pack along with a properly designed end tank is key to ensuring there is a proper balance of cooling vs restriction without sacrificing performance. |

Choosing FMIC
so I have tried searching for an answer to this but can't find anything more recent then 2016. Want to get a FMIC and have been in love with the ER one for a while. love the looks and how it seamlessly flows all the way to the charge pipe. not the biggest fan of the price. I know that VRSF 7 HD is really good but not the biggest fan of the look. Plan on going FBO. Any thoughts or guidance would be appreciated

I was trying to decide between VRSF new HD 5" or the PSP 600ic due to pricing mainly and decided on the Pinnacle.
Looking forward to getting it, with the sale pricing(for what looks to be great quality) seems very worth it. $425 shipped is what I paid and pending final inspection after receiving it, seems like a great deal. His 750 and 900 are also on sale, but I don't need anything that large for my goals. https://fasterbypinnacle.com/product...c-intercooler/ |

The intercooler posted uses sheet metal end tanks which will restrict flow and it's more expensive than the better/equal performing VRSF options. |

I also wouldn't consider $25 more expensive enough to make worth mentioning as far as cost, especially considering it shipped for free and I paid no tax. One of the other reasons I went with this intercooler is because you have for some reason decided to completely ignore my questions in one of your posts and my private message as well. So, I took that as what I could expect for customer service. Whereas PSP responded to me within an hour, on a Sunday, regarding his product. I will be buying product from you in the future, so i hope that improves, as i'm unsure why you would ignore someone trying to spend money with you. |

It was the one question you directed to me asking directly at them to confirm that I was waiting for a response on for some time. Not a huge deal, my other IC is en route for friday. When I need my inlets and Xi downpipes i'll get them off your website. |

Sorry if this was already covered in the thread:
I'm running MHD stage 1 right now on stock turbos and would go to 1+ with a new IC. Thinking of the VRSF 7" HD, which I'm sure is a lot more volume than the stock unit. Am I going to see longer spool times due to the increased volume in the piping? And I may be harking back to my days running centrifugal superchargers, but is there any boost loss due to a larger IC or does the turbo automatically make up for it because it's wastegate controlled? |
