Sounds great man, I'm glad your turbos lasted so long, and I'm really hoping mine last longer than yours did! |

Still going strong at 182k according to my recent Blackstone report. FBO, hybrid turbos, inlets/outlets, E50 mix with stage 2 lpfp and MHD/Motiv flex fuel tune.

My journey might be ending around where I'm at- my '07 has 171k on original turbos with no rattle, and boosting great to 16psi whenever asked. With a heavy heart I've listed it for sale, and I'm hoping I get what I want for it. I purchased a 204k mile 2010 X5 35d, which runs and drives like an absolute dream. It'll be used on my 100+ mile daily commute, 28+ mpg on the highway, and way more practical. Also, it has the ability to tow my drift car!

Hello, I see that it’s an old thread but wanted to leave an update for anyone who stumbles on this….
I’ve had my 2008 E92 N54 for 6 years now, always been bone stock, full service by myself. Purchased from a Ford dealer tech with no start condition, it was in bad shape at 120k miles. Around 130k I lost the motor. Opened it up to find the previous owner ate a serpentine belt and never took the oil pan off to clean up the pick up tube… Car sat around for 2 years until one day I walked next to its twin at Pull-a-Part. Took the whole power train right out and took it home. Subframe, transmission and all. Did full service (valve cover/oil pan/ofhg/belt/pulleys/etc) and stuck it right in. Im at 135k on the body now and out of curiosity I ran carfax on the donor engine’s VIN….. 272k miles 😂!!! Runs amazingly strong, burned about a half quart in 5k miles and I’m suspecting a failing PCV so most likely it’s not even burning that much to begin with. About to do all the supporting mods and send it single turbo. Will leave it around the 500hp mark and see how long the engine will last. As of 2024 in my opinion, The N52 and N54 engines are some of the most reliable and finest engines BMW has made. |

184K, my HPFP seems amazingly good according to MHD, and LPFP never went below 58 so i put it on MHD stage 1+ 91 octane. ( most common here, can get 93 at a few places)
i had ONE incidence of it somehow eating a quart or two, but i check oil level religously now and it has stayed at max ever since, so no idea.. will be putting on the bremmen aluminum VC that i had a few issues with ( posted in the bremmen aluminum VC post) as well as a B58 coil upgrade here hopefully soon with fresh plugs and do the oil change at the same time. so far i've just replaced all the suspension coil springs, and the front struts, and will also liekly be puttign it some B4 sport suspension bilsteins in the rear soon. after that will likely do the 1M/M3 arms front and rear with Turner rear toe bars. and get the M3 alignment. for a higher mileage sport sedan it grip the road insanely well, then again i've only had sport coupes and sedans before from Mitsubishi, Dodge, and Honda. didn't realize BMW was the track weapon in disguise that it is. always thought they where just pure luxury class soft suspension cars with a hefty price tag when new outside the M series lineup.. how wrong i was. |
