^ Thanks for the info...I've been contemplating a 135i Convertible for the wife when she's ready to trade her car and thought it'd be good to have the perf. exhaust and the power kit added in at purchase time. Since all the new 135s will be N55 (except maybe the rumored "M" 1-series, which may be coupe only), I'm looking for whatever info I can find.

+1, and 2 and 3...
I can't believe no one local to them is interested in a free DP... I would give them my car, but I can't be without for two weeks, just not going to happen. And no I won't get a rental, I have a baby on the way (in three weeks) and i'm not going to roll in a rental. Frankie, you are WAYYY closer to them than I... I'm 2k miles away, your what, 1k? Take a nice vacation...

AFE purchased an N55 specifically for R&D so you guys should see some more products being offered in the next few months here. They've just released their direct replacement filters today:
This AFE filter outflows the factory intake by 33%, increases performance and MPG. Constructed with 100% polyurethane on all four sides, this high flow, oiled OE replacement performance filter will outflow stock paper filter for improved horsepower and torque. Five layers of progressively finer mesh cotton gauze media provide maximum airflow for best performance results. Washable and reusable for multiple cleaning cycles, the tall open evenly space pleats provide excellent dust holding capacity for longer service cycle between cleanings. Integrated urethane bump seal insures tight, no leak seal over the life of the filter. |

that's cool
another option for filters. Modbargin. I take it that this picture is not the filter for the N55. Edit: ---------- link to info: http://afepower.com/shop/details_new...11&&brandID=59 i believe the pict is just a representation of the actually filter.

Helix can't fit the FMIC on my N55... Measurements don't match up... But they do want me to come back another time to do some measurements, they need about 3 hours... So I'll see what I can arrange so I can come back... Oh well...

From what I can tell...
I've got a 3" Single Pipe (not a true dual exhaust system) that leads to a huge muffler (dual exhaust). I know I've got one big cat on the down pipe, but I can't see another cat afterwards. Once I get the car on a lift, I'll be able to see whats really going on down there... I'm envisioning cutting the stock muffler out, putting a 'Y' pipe in, and having two 3" pipes lead down to some straight thru Magnaflow or Aero Exhaust mufflers, going back to the stock tips.
