On a 8" you can go from 25 - 45 of course the higher the offset, the more it will tuck However, if you are going with 245's, i'd suggest doing at least a 32mm on 8.5" or 27mm on an 8" |

So I came across this rims/tires. Do you think it will fit? Yes, it is 5x120.
Rims - SSR GT3 20"x8.5" Offset 43 (Front) 20"x9.5" Offset 43 (Rear) Tires - Pirelli PZero Nero 245/30/20 (Front) 285/25/20 (Rear) |

It'll fit but fitment might be tight; you may need to run spacers front & rear. Most of the 20" fitments I've looked at are showing offsets of 35ET or less.

I thought higher the offset, more sit flush with fenders, no?
Say, if I put 5 or 10 mm spacers, which makes the offset 33~38, don't you think it will stick out and rub on fenders? Is 43 offset too much for E92 to handle? I don't want rims touching control arms nor to roll/shave the fenders. So these set up won't fit without doing any of these? david |

There's a ton of info on Tirerack's site that's useful in educating yourself about wheel fitments. In addition, you can do test fitments on the site by choosing a vehicle and seeing how the wheels & tires look on the car. The original fitment for a bone-stock E9x-series is 7x16 wheel w/ a 205-55-16 tire. Going to 20" wheels means going to a Plus 4 fitment. There will be a number of compromises for the look you want to achieve.

Well, while I do appreciate your help, I must say I do understand what +/- offset means. I just wanted to know these specific setup will work on E92 due to high offset.
It seems that tireracks's site has variety of rims/tires choice for 335i sport package and offsets scatter from anywhere inbetween 30 to 40 which is very close to the offset that I mentioned above. As I put down on the #1 post, I know that these set up will work if offset is right. I just wanted to be extra curious/careful because, 1) E90 and E92 has 5mm difference in rear fender width, and 2) if I do decide to buy, it will be several thousand dollars I'm talking. So my question is... will these setup work with just merely spacer? |

I used the calculator above but...
I'll stick with the OE Michelin rft's but change the wheels to 18x8 front and 18x9 rear. All wheels have offset of 38. According to the calculator the fronts will tuck in 4mm and the rears will extend 5mm. Anyone see any problems with this approach on a stock ride height E92? |

Yeah. The calculator above is not correct in lot of occassion. That's why I made this thread to see some real result and hear some opinions.
As far as your offset is rediculous, I think you should be fine. David |
