DavyK....it was in your list.
Peter....only you got it right without providing a list. I award it to both of you so please decide the charity between you and I will pay (on my credit card of course ) |

Bleepin Heck Andrew thats an impressive motor ........ how do you make something like that affordable? What age and colour are you getting?
As regards charity I'm happy for Peter to suggest, my suggestion would be Shortie's appeal for Sarah as I haven't yet contributed to this. |

I will be happy to take you for a spin....we should meet up when I next go and see old'Rog! Overpaid you cheeky sod....I work bloody hard for it Quote:
I say that it's affordable but I'm saying this in context to and comparison with my Jag, which really is very expensive and a car that I really stretched myself (monthly) to get. This is cheaper per month because: It's a £185k car that has depreciated to a point where it's not (hopefully) going to lose huge amounts more (well, certainly a lot less than a new car costing £100k'ish) It has 4 year residuals that are in line with what you'd expect of a £185k car....i.e. dropping to around £65k in the next 3 years, which is a lot more than what you'd see buying a new £100k'ish car. So, combining the hefty early depreciation that I swerved, the (relative) bargain price I paid in comparison to a new one (which I'm not sharing publicly), strong forecast residuals from this point on and a reasonable APR all makes the monthly payment on a PCP very reasonable (when said in the context of the original value of the car...it's still a considerable amount of money to commit to for someone who is essentially just a wage slave like me!) One thats right up my street....a black and cream combo I love the sound of my Jag but when this is started up, it's like something from another world. It's like a combination of my C63 and an old American muscle car. Quote:

Should I mention now that they have much or the same centre console as the C Class?
That is the same C Class that I returned not so long ago for problems with the centre console. Stunning car but after my last experience I couldn't bring myself to risk it. |

Andrew, there was no need for the screenshot, I would not have doubted that you would cough up!
That's the second chairity donation you have made losing a wager to me ! .....how about another little bet, say £20 for charity, that the SLS will not last 9 months |

I'll do that. I'm not confident but I'm hopeful! Because after all, if I do have to get rid in 9 months then it's likely to be a backward step!

Mark, As part of my cost saving measures (of which the purchase of an SLS really contributes to ), we're also getting rid of the Range Rover whilst it's hardly lost any money. I'd like something that'll do 40mpg for my weekly runs to the big smoke and costs a couple of hundred pounds a month less to buy. I therefore considered another C-Class as I always liked my C63 but, in the back of my mind, I had your story which totally put me off! So, whatever you set out to do worked in this case as it stopped me buying one as I couldn't live with a car like yours was. I'm actually in the process of working out a deal on an E350CDi coupe (trying to get the dealer to £500pm for a brand new one with Nav and no deposit!) as all E-Class variants I've driven have been rattle free! The centre console in the SLS is vastly different....the one I've bought has the carbon pack so my dash trim is all carbon fibre and means that all the rattles will be of a slightly different tone to plastic on plastic |

Wow Andrew that's an amazing car to own
I'm surprised and I'm not at the same time. I thought you found the one with the jag. I thought it was special but the SLS really is something else. I'm a complete novice with finance / monthly payments having never done it. I assume its personal as you work for so and so but how do you terminate it early without charges? |
