I believe they chose aluminum to keep cost down! Carbon fiber was brought up but using aluminum keeps cost down and looks nice!! Some of these kits out there are all carbon fiber , which is the reason why they have a msrp of like 8oo bucks!

One of my biggest concerns is the rubber joint that attaches the metal elbow to the engine's intake. This small rubber piece has two clamps attached to it. With the stock air intake, the ingress and egress diameters are different on this joint. Is this AFE filter rubber piece the same diameter at the front and rear or different? I wouldn't want this to pop off after a driving my car over a bumpy road.

It's not ghetto, just giving you guys a hard time. Looking forward to see how this compares to the dinan one which should be coming out with around the same price.

Doubt it considering the intake for the e46 cost only $300. I Don't think we are gonna see any markups nearly that large.

I was thinking of the M3 one sorry. I just ordered the Bimmian/Simota intake. I should have it in 3 weeks. I will let everyone know how it is.

That may very well happen, but the Dinan intake should still be in the same price range as this one. That's all I'm trying to say. I think the Dinan intake will be made available in the range of $500-300 (Pure Speculation).

Question e90 330xi intake

Hi guys, I'm a newbie(registered 2 days ago) from the east coast..i have 330xi and was reading some of the posts...i needed the xi for the NJ winters.is it possible to get 5hp+ from the intake and which one sould I go with...I have an AFE for my 99 blue m3, which I am selling by the way if anyone is interested, and the I loved the intake...it made a significant pull off the line...I was thinking of buying an intake with a high flow throttle body...I just want to get under 6 seconds 0-60..I am going to hand the car down in about 3 years (hopefully fo rthe next m3)...can someone help...
