Sorry I didnt attach the pics there are a lot of them. Any helpful input would be appreciated : )

Between these two and admittadely strictly on the surface, I prefer the Lemans Inspired Rep. It appears that the spokes are longer and correctly proportioned to the entire wheel. This might have been done while sacraficing the step lip, but well worth it IMO.

With that said I'm not well informed what either of them weigh, or their quality and track record. Maybe someone can help me out with that info?

I've been in the market for some new shoes and mostly been leaning toward CSL reps, but there is no right fit. If it's not one thing it's another with either the setups not being ideal or the questionable finishes...etc.

At this moment I'm strongly leaning towards a LM rep or Linea Corse Z2S. Any and all opinions and suggestions are welcomed.

All in good fun I know but I'll tell you my opinions on why I don't get real BBS rims...
1) Since I'm not the only driver of my car and not anal enough to divorce my wife when she dings a rim, I opt for cheaper rims/better tires if needed
2) I have the finances to buy real BBS rims but would rather use the money for other things such as time with the family on outings and such
3) I'm not in it to win it at any events. As long as the car drives and looks nice, I'm happy
4) I could care less what people say behind my back or to my face about running reps.

What's the difference on replica rims and fake CF products or other "replica" products out there other than rims? It's the same to me. Can't hate someone or put some people down because they chose BBS reps or M6 reps, M5 reps, CSL reps etc.

I would first and foremost pick a rim that you can buy a spare of later
I bought a rim and when it cracked, tried to find a replacement but they didn't make them anymore.

I have Exclusive Alloy LM reps at home waiting to ship back so I can't say anything about the Lemans LM reps but the EA reps are in person. The outer polish against the painted center is a nice contrast. The lip itself is nicely proportioned and the wheels are nice and light.
It's a DAMN SHAME that DHL bent my damn lip. I still love the look and at some point in time may buy them again unless I see some other rims at a later time, that I like better.

LM Reps (EX-M3) can be purchased from many vendors.
JLevi
Wheeldude
Euro-Spec
BMW Motorsport

It's just that no one has them in stock
Wheeldude has the Linea Corse (sp) I believe which also look like LM's in stock or coming very soon

Any rim can be bent like that. I bent a front 189 worse than that and it still holds air so the insurance won't pay. That EX wheel is repairable but in the end the manufacturer offered a free replacement.

LOL... I have an E46 M3 retard.

DHL drops a box and rims bend? Christ... Imagine what happens when you encounter your first big pot hole or something.... Not to sound snobby or anything but my LMs took pot hole after pot hole for years, and no bends...

Not to knock anyone.... If they make you happy, go for it....

Some of these rep's look great imo and personally I have no problem with a BBS cap on em because 99% of people don't know their not the real deal. On my E46 I had Hartge Classics, Hamann PG3's then HRE 542R's and all the money spent got me some magazine acclaim and more than a few trophies at shows but the cars long gone and so is all the money I spent on them. I appreciate the quality and craftmanship that goes into a nice 3 piece forged wheel but you know what they all bend just about the same if you hit a pothole hard enuff with a 35 or 30 series tire and unfortunately when you have to drop $1000 + to replace 1 rim it gets beyond the point of being ridiculous. So to each his own, you decide what suits you and ultimately your paying for em so who gives a rats ass that someone else might think your center cap say's about you!!

Some of these look great! The more I see them though, the more I love my REAL DEAL LM's even more. It's nice to have a wheel that's so sought after they make replicas out of them.

I agree with you man.... BBS/HRE and the other big wheel companies really do over price the wheels they sell. I've been seeing LM reps that look so close to the real deal that I even thought about getting a set..... They are less then 1/2 the cost of the real ones. Although I gotta say I never had a problem with my LMs bending or anything.... But my HREs and other wheels I have owned bent on pot holes.

Nah not at all bro... I totally agree with you. Rims are way over priced now a days. CHs used to be so cheap, I just checked pricing on tire rack and DAYUMN, they jacked the numbers up somethin aweful.

I too cant wait to see what you do with your ride. Street Effectz FTW!! LOL

Old thread, sure, but I see everyone talking about the looks. What about the quality? How do the reps compare when it comes to the quality?

Marketing certainly plays a part in the price differential but quality and workmanship must also play a role, too.

I own real LMs. Did the marketing suck me in -- or is there really a difference between the wheels, which justifies the price differential?

Thanks, guys.

wow, totally old thread. i miss my car!

i'm sure the build quality of real LMs top the reps by far but i had ZERO issues with mine. hit a few pot holes and drove on some bad roads. real ones are probably lighter as well?

plus, having REAL LMs = a lot more ?

Will say this: having reps would be a lot better for the inevitable pot hole or road problem. Makes the damage a lot more tolerable.
