Funny enough, there could be an argument for that based on the HPFP problem never really being fixed.

This is the same way flood cars get sold... send them a few states over and nobody knows anything... hell in some cases even the dealer/salesperson doesnt know... though how tough can it be to look for tell tale signs.

personally I feel the car should be reclaimed by bmw and they repair it , use it as an loaner, etc or sell it. The sticker isnt necessary. just another way for shady resellers to get caught in the cookie jar.

ppp
BMW NA would have to care first to do something about it

I think my lemon'ed coupe is still in the bay area - I did a carfax on it and it is registered around here. The carfax didn't label it as a lemon.

My vert however was labelled as a lemon. I doubt if moving to another state would change the carfax - maybe just the title.

Here is the car: http://www.perillobmw.com/site/used_...ude-media=true

$44k for a lemon with 15k miles.

1+ years on mine, no issues at all. I tend to agree that something seems worse with CA gas that is burning through HPFPs there.

Also, that chain of dealerships is fairly well known locally as a buyer-beware dealership. I think if I was considering buying from them, I might be happy to see it as a lemon vs a car with significant repaired accident damage. which I think they are also somewhat famous for selling
