You have to pop out the adapter between the leveling motor and projector housing, it just snaps in, then slide it off of the motor. Then remove the motor from the back, remove the 4 screws holding the projector in and it barely fits out the back.

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I can't make a new thread on this account so I figured I'd hijack this one.
I have a question for anyone that's opened up an e90 LCI headlight. Has anyone else had problems with light shining through the top edge of the headlight? I opened mine up to fix a broken adjuster but when I put them back together it seems like the top shroud is sitting to low. Everything is screwed in and clipped together tight so I'm not sure where I went wrong. |

Open the headlights 1) they are permanent sealed so it makes it much harder. 2) need a flat head, heat gun , and Dremel. 3) cut into the headlight with the Dremel and afterwards create enough gap to heat and pry open with the headlights. Took me about a few
Hours to open them up safely |

Ok I will re clarify. If it has amber (unless euro style) it will most likely be permasealed. If it is a clear corner you should be able to bake open. I also cut mine open as heating up the plastic and bending it is going to cause more damage to the lenses. Especially mine (2006 330i) since the lenses are not replaceable. |
