Overall it's 100% worth it. Edit: tune loading takes 20 minutes and they recommend attaching a battery tender during the process. I always follow all the steps from the tuner. The original read takes 45-60 minutes and after that flashing has taken me 20 minutes or so each time. I've flashed about 5 times. IMO it's not a wise area to try and save money but to each their own. Edit2: AA also releases updated tunes here and there. My old off-road tune was out of date and they sent me an updated flash.

I never had the dealer re flash my car then again I never go to the dealer ( been there twice) , I dont see this as something that would happened often unless your car is breaking down all the time . Changing tunes will also cost you money , I dont think ( correct if i m wrong) AA would send you their tune with manifold for free , there is a fee which may be the same as taking it to an authorize AA dealer . Once you change your tune to manifold you probably never go back to the one without manifold. I guess it is worth it if you are constantly changing from stock to tune or changing between tunes. Otherwise I m still not 100 % convinced. I had mine for a year and I never had to mess with it ( knock on wood) |

Yeah there's the
non DISA stock manifold tune DISA manifold tune "Off road" catless header tune(incorporates 3stage if necessary) *the off-road tune is an additional fee and thus it is typically catered to your specific mods, IE headers and no 3 stage if someone had that setup for some reason. I'll agree that the simon tool doesn't make sense for someone like yourself who will set it and forgot it. I simply cannot stop fiddling with my toys haha.. Happy New Years to all!

thats why I avoid the dealer. Unless I need something done under warranty I rather take it to an indy shop. Last time I was at the dealer it was a bunch of kids that probably just graduated from college working on my car while at the indy I get guys that have many years experience working on bmw's. One of the guys that worked on my car has a race N52 car making 350 hp at the wheels all engine ( not turbo or supercharger) and he works on masserattis, porshe etc and his prices are half the dealer's...

sorry he may be running lower than that. I think he is at 320 at the wheels right now and is a e90 325
He can not run turbocharge where he is competing so it s all engine. I know there was a thread about his car back when he was doing 280 whp he also has an older bmw race car , here is feature on his site http://www.rmpmotors.com/?cat=72 here is another link featuring both cars http://www.rmpmotors.com/?p=827 |

Here we go again.
And to those people flashing tunes around, be aware that BMWs have a reflash limit before the ECU bricks.

I've gone through the entire MSV70 binary, there is no flash counter. There's a limited number of AIF writes, but unless you're using WinkFP it doesn't matter.
I've been beating myself up going through the MSV70 source code. It hurts my head, hopefully something comes from it! I don't think any E90 generation DMEs have flash counters, MSS60 & MSS65 for sure do not. MSS54 had a flash counter, and it wouldn't really brick, you just couldn't write anymore. It's somewhat simple to reset anyway. |

No? He say BMW did away with that?
Also, "buddy". I think one should have a least a single conversation with someone before you consider them to be a buddy.

Salman stated the one in our 128i won't brick, he said "we can flash all day". Mentioned some Porsches have bricking issues, don't remember which one.
