Our government keep pushing EV, but what happening to the charging stations. I don't know the rest of Canada. In Vancouver, it is not good. More than 50% of the charging stations (except the Tesla charging stations) are always out of order. I have a few EV friends, so I don't need a fact check. And now the city owned parking lots are not allowing EV users to charge their cars in their parking lots. What is it if it is not a joke.

I don’t follow how charging stations are going because I don’t have an EV, but you’re confusing things…

It’s a GOOD thing public outlets do not allow people to charge their cars on them.

Be it in my building, on the street, or on a parking lot, I don’t want to pay for other people to “fuel” their cars. They can pay it themselves.

If you want an EV, buy it and pay for your own electricity. Don’t push it on the rest of us who don’t have EVs or pay for our own fuel (either at a gas station, at a recharge station, or at home).

That mindset I think is funny, not the sign.
I totally agree about not allowing people to charge their EV in public outlets. However those are city owned parking lots and belong to the city. If the city/government are not getting their shit together to build more charging stations or fixing all the out of order charging stations. What is the point of pushing EV when most of the EV users are having trouble charging their cars in public. This is what I mean one step forward and 10 steps backward.

Keep EVs out of my plugs, I don’t want to pay for people’s fuel.

That’s the bottom line. It’s correct as is.
This is not what I read/heard from my city

You can keep dream on. Our tax money have already paid for the EV owners one way or the other. Do you have a choice??

Homemade electrical cars burned in north Phoenix garage fire
June 18, 2024
PHOENIX - Homemade electric vehicles caught fire in Phoenix during the morning hours of June 18, damaging a family home near Cactus and Cave Creek roads.
When crews arrived at the scene and realized it was two homemade EVs on fire, they brought out a winch and yanked them out as fast as possible.
"If you do have an electric vehicle, and it catches fire, please relay that to the 911 dispatch center, and they can get that to us, and we can start getting our hazmat units, so we can wrap our heads around how we're going to attack this fire," said Keller.

When you guys are down to posting about homemade EVs being a problem then I think that is robustly positive sign that the real EV industry is in good shape.

EV startup Fisker's U.S. units file for bankruptcy
June 19, 2024
Electric vehicle startup Fisker, which sought Chapter 11 protection earlier this week, said its U.S. units had also filed for bankruptcy in a court in Delaware on Wednesday.
Fisker Inc and its other U.S. subsidiaries have entered into Chapter 11, the firm said, adding that discussions about the sale of assets remain ongoing.
As per the court filing, Fisker Inc listed assets estimated to be worth between $500 million and $1 billion, while its liabilities were projected at between $1 billion and $10 billion.

I don't think Fisker going bankrupt is a surprise or even remotely unexpected. They were doomed from the start to be an asterisk on the EV story.

I read before some of those Fiskers were going for huge discounts but what is the point if they are going bankrupt.

I forgot when did Theodore Roosevelt cut Henry Ford a big check?
"On June 16, 1903, Henry and 12 others invested $28,000 and created Ford Motor Company."

How Fisker got $500 million in government loans for a fuel economy flop
When Fisker Automotive won heaps of praise from Vice President Joe Bozo and a $529 million loan from the U.S. government, officials touted the Karma luxury sedan as getting up to 100 miles a gallon, going 50 miles on a full battery charge and offering "supercar" performance. None of those targets were met — but Fisker's moving ahead, your tax dollars in hand.
