Pho would be nice too..... Just went for Pho over the weekend....Man, I almost finish all the soup..... Well, if you guys wanna go to a "nicer" pho restaurant, there's one in Rockville called Miss Saigon. But I don't know how traditional they are.....

My thoughts...
- For the remainder of this year, I guess we can all chip in some $$$ for cover the check.
- We can look for a less expensive location. The purpose of the HH is to hang around with the Bimmer owners not have a fancy meal.

For next year:
- NCC needs to look as how much this social event his growing.
As a result, it should be time to think about increasing the budget based on 2007 figures.
- Revisit the rules. Should this event be open to non NCC members?

Where in Rockville?

I usually go to Pho 75 near Montgomery College.

Today, I'm in College Park, so I'll go to Pho 88 on route 1 near Costco.

What's up with the names? 75, 88, 95, etc

2) Changing location to someplace cheaper
3) Everyone splitting the tip
4) Having socials every other month to save money dollars for the ones you have

Sorry Paul, it seem so last minute, at the time it was advised, it was barely 24hours before the event. It just felt like the rug was pulled under our feet hence the defensive mode.

Miss Saigon is near Rockvill Town center on N. Washington Blvd. Btw, Pho 95 taste a lot better IMHO and they have a variety of food other than Pho....

The HH event has grown exponentially in the last few months.
we had:
1) more HHs per month
2) more attendance
3) higher checks (except for the Chipotle HH)

The budget for 2007 is probably gone now.
Paul just got elected chair of the socials and is probably trying to do damage control now.

It's better to reduce costs than canceling events.

Let's work with the reduced budget and hope that next year, the HH fund is increased.

1) This is not a crisis...getting together for free or mostly free is a good thing, regardless of how much the supporting organization chips in.
2) Everyone on this forum can afford their own bill for an happy hour, it is a blessing that NCC allows us to not have to foot our own.
3) Budget or no budget, hanging out with the DC Metro crew is fun, I would pay real money to see the antics of Spool, Swoop, and iatacs19...

thanks for understanding guys. If I didn't have to do it, I wouldn't. I like free food just as much as anyone else (u see how fat my ass is) . it seems like we have some good suggestions for future locations, but i'm still concerned about what you all want to do tonight?

I just dont see the "problem". I actually didnt know NCC picked up the tab for the HH tonight, so, in plain language, i just dont care.

Honestly, I didn't even know that NCC picked up the tab for these things!!!

But I'm with Stephan here as well - even if NCC didn't pick up the tab, I'd still be willing to head out for dinner/HH or whatever just to hang out. NCC picking up the tab is icing on the cake. Just can't do tonight.

+1....money is not an issue...i just wanna go out, drink, have fun, we always have fun when we go out.
