Just ordered the performance exhaust off ebay from Morristown BMW. $899.99 +55 shipping for $954.99 total.
El Cajun BMW had it for $920 plus free shipping, but is in California so that would have been +$93 tax for me. Anything else I need to install this? |

Installed it and it is now probably my favorite mod I did to the car!
Didn't come with instructions, but looked to me like after cutting and unhooking the hangers, you could just drop it a little and slide it out without taking anything apart. So that is what I did. I got this exhaust cutter at Harbor Freight http://www.harborfreight.com/exhaust...ool-69327.html It did a really nice clean cut on the first pipe and broke right when I started on the second pipe. I may have been cranking down on it trying to force the cut to go faster. Had to use a huge saw's all which was pretty awkward to handle laying on my back under the car. But got it done. |

I have an 2006 330i 6MT.
I am looking at the performance exhaust on ebay here that others have bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Factory-...56857e&vxp=mtr However it does not list the 330i model in the description. I was 99% sure it is still the right exhaust but then when I went to Turner Motorsport to look at the same exhaust (with same mfr part #18102208793) it says in their fitment guide that it is only for the 330i with build dates from 6/2006 to 8/2007. The label in my door says 07/05 so I think I am out of that range. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-56...28xi-330i.aspx I am still 98% sure it will still fit my car but wanted to check with the board for some affirmation before I pull the trigger. Thanks for any help! |

Just bought mine at a local dealership and the price was good especially with my club card. I should be getting it on Wednesday!

Had my PE installed at Mike's Muffler in El Monte this afternoon. But it sounds so quiet. Maybe it needs some break-in time. On the plus side the lag from a stop to accelerating is gone and the jerky feel when driving in sports mode is toned down quite a bit (Is it the exhaust?). So I have mixed feelings about it so far. Hopefully it gets better over time sound wise.
Edit: After a few days with it, it sounds better now. Hopefully a month of usage will fine tune the sound. And my gas mileage dropped a bit. No change in the way I'm driving either.

The box? I seriously doubt it. When I had mine put on I was able to haul my old muffler and the pipe in the trunk. The PE is the same size as the original. Worst case: you put the muffler in the trunk and the pipe in the backseat. Just bring some towels for your seats.

Emozoo is right, the piping is not damaged. That's just the way the pipes are. But I agree with you. For $1000 I don't want to see any dents, kinks or crush bends in the piping. But the PE piping doesn't look like it's much better than than the standard exhaust. It's unfortunate because the PE is probably the best sounding exhaust for the N52 which is why it's so popular here. But performance wise, you are probably not any better than a resonator and muffler delete. And I can't really justify spending a grand on what's probably just a sound mod. But BMW claims their PE adds 5hp and I've never seen a before/after dyno of a PE so I duno. I could be wrong. But I've never really heard of anyone gaining 5 hp just by changing/removing a muffler or resonator.
