The info on Boyd Steamship has been updated again - has us arriving at the canal late afternoon tomorrow (rather than the 23rd, like WWL's site says), but still tentatively scheduled to transit on the 24th.

I take that back. We're now due in at 3am on the 23rd, and have lost our slot on the 24th - moved to the 25th.

Nor me. It's virtually winter now too. Maybe I should give it up and buy an SUV.
Or order a 330xi coupe for 08 |

Yes, but in the meantime I'm driving my 7 like it's a 335 to practice for the new coupe. Although I was looking at another thread here that was asking what kind of mpg people were getting in their 335's and it was amazing the ranges from 13-27 avg mpg. Getting 13 mpg astounded me, I avg 17 in my 7, what the hell short of tracking the car are you doing to only get 13 mpg avg

Plus a couple more delays and my car is gonna arrive while I'm actually in Italy. I dont want my car sitting at the dealer the whole time I'm gone, so if this happens, one of you guys are going to pick up my car and take it to my garage for safe keeping, lol.

Hey - even though we're all delayed, you'll be getting your new toy at least two days ahead of me. My dealer is claiming 2-4 days to have the car transported up to Seattle Interesting switch - from a 7 (big luxury) to a 3 (small and sporty)! |

We usually just use the 7 for long trips, down to the bay area or Palm Springs, Ashland stuff like that. I sold my acura before I got my new 3 series here to some close friends who wanted it, so I am using my 7 as a daily driver for now. And yes you heard correctly ACURA, I have driven 3 series sedan forever until it got "Bangaleized" and I disliked it enough that I left the brotherhood for 2 years, I got the TL, my wife got the 05 4Runner, and we got a Caddie for trips. BUT, once you drive a BMW you know the rest and the looks started to grow on me and I bought the 760Li last year, although I still didnt like the 3 series sedan, than for Christmas I bought my wife the X5 because she drove our friends X5 and loved it, and while getting it serviced in the middle of July there sat a Sapphire Black coupe with saddle interior they had just gotten in for another customer, and I looked at the COUPE and the rest is history( still not a fan of the sedan though)

That's a fair garage!
I drove Lexuses while I lived in the UK, largely because I didn't like the new 3 either. I bought an X5 when I moved to the US, which I loved - until it started costing me thousands to keep on the road. I bought an Acura (yes, I admit it) MDX. I had it new, and drove it for 1462 miles before swapping it out for a 335i Coupe (I had the same "I miss BMW, and that looks stunning" epiphany). Hated the MDX though. Mindnumbingly bad decision on my part! I'm driving a friend's 2006 GTi at the moment - which really is a lot of car for the money. I'm hoping that the 335 justifies the extra $25k when it arrives (seems like an eternity since I drove it....) |

I know, it's sad - isn't it
Despite the fact that I *know* the 335 isn't going to be great for ski-trips (I refuse to run two cars), that it's bound to fail with fuel pump issues, that the iPod kit won't work properly, that I'll end up spending a fortune on cosmetic mods I don't need, and that I can't tint it without it looking like a$$ - I NEED ONE!!! I'm Alistair, and I'm a BMW addict. |

We finally got a booked Canal transit date from Boyd's! W&W still thinks we're going through tomorrow though. At this point I'm inclined to believe Boyd's.

I agree - but I'm retaining some degree of futile optimism
- Boyd's shows no-one transiting tomorrow (23rd) - There are some (limited) number of transit slots still available tomorrow Maybe if we pitch up early, we're in with a chance? Worst case, it's the 24th - which is better than it was yesterday.... 1 available Period 3 (last minute) booking slot available currently for tomorrow: http://www.pancanal.com/evtms-rpts/agents/VI5340RP.pdf |

Good point about the open slot tomorrow. Maybe W&W knows something Boyd's doesn't. There is hope . . .

There is always hope
My friends are now taking bets that my car is at the dealer on 9/21. I'm determined to prove them wrong! Both Tacoma and Hueneme are expecting TAGUS 3 days earlier than WWL is claiming at the moment. Think happy thoughts |

Agalbraith - why do your friends think 9/21? I need mine to arrive in Seattle before the 19th!

Their thinking: - Ship arrives 8/31 or 9/1 - Cars are unloaded onto dock due to holiday weekend - Cars moved from dock to VPC on 9/4 - 5 days at VPC due to volume of vehicles (1000 cars arrived earlier this week) - Released to shipper on 9/12 - Arrives in Seattle on 9/17 - Done with dealer PDC 9/18 ...I think they added the final 3 days to pi$$ me off |

" Released to shipper on 9/12"
Okay that would mean best case scenario my car arrives at my dealership in Humboldt county on Friday the 14th. THE FRIGGIN DAY WE LEAVE FOR ITALY Okay if that happens like I said earlier one of you guys is picking my car up at the dealership and taking it to my garage, I dont want it sitting at the dealership for 3 weeks. Come on now, Lets hear from the volunteers. |
