I gave my copy of the warranty to my service advisor since he wasnt sure if it was covered. I pointed out a specific paragraph on the back in fine print and he agreed with me that it was indeed covered. They warrantied it. Thats why theres an X over the "Paid" part because the cashier tried to charge me but my advisor had to come over and tell her it was free.

Then read Section 5. It states "Premier Wheel Coverage provides the registered customer with coverage for the repair of cosmetic damage to an alloy or steel wheel. Cosmetic damage is defined as anything that alters the normal condition of the wheel/rim." There you have it. So does curb rash alter the normal condition of the wheel? YES. So is curb rash covered then? YES! Take that to your dealer Last edited by Sara; 10-19-2011 at 10:36 PM.. |

I looked at mine and it doesn't have the cosmetic damages section. It actually says explicitly that cosmetic damages are excluded.

My front is nearly the same..except it's the BMW 'official warranty' I only have wheel & tire and paintless dent repair. That's really unfortunate on my behalf.. -_-

I have a choice between bmw brand for 1200 (5 years I think) or 1300 for 5 years of ROAD InTIRE brand wheel/tire. The ROAD one seems to cover more though. I'm in the Midwest. |

Just my 2 cents. I had a e46 330ci w/ sport package for 10 years and now a 2011 335 w/ M sport and never got the insurance. Most of my driving is in or around the city and I guess I have been lucky..never had an issue. I may have had some rims bent but nothing where I had to repair or replace.
I know of several people that did get the insurance and have mixed experiences. Some get their tires replaced with no problem and other's patched the tire and claim that the rims are not bent enough to require replacing. This is my problem with the insurance, it's really the opinion of the SA that decides what is covered and the concept of insurance doesn't make sense if they are worse off at the end. |

I am in the NYC area and got quoted 1500 including tax for 5 years. I initially was not going to take the insurance because I don't believe in purchasing an extra warranty for purchases. But I have been asking around and think I will be buying the protection package.
My question is what are people paying in my area for this package. I have heard a large variety of prices. I will try to negotiate but I got my car for a steal and the finance lady didn't seem to eager to go any lower than 1,400. I will of coarse read the paperwork extensively before i sigh. I doubt it will cover cosmetics, but that would be a nice surprise. I think Sara hit the jackpot with that coverage.
