Dont turn the traction completely off, just press the DTC button one, and it is like a halfway house - The traction control is there when you need it, and not harnessing the engine all the time

I think a 335d is definately capable of a very low 13sec pass.. I know i could have done a 13.5-13.6 stock. Which is only a couple tenths quicker than what i did anyway My 60ft was slow also!

2.2 mate, and it was a 13.90. so could easily have been a 13.8 and i feel if i had a better 60ft launch say 2.0-2.1 thats a 13.6.. see where im coming from. it wasnt a particulary quick day either, with a CSL running constant 14's

2.2 isn`t all that bad Carl, yes ideally you`d be after a 1.8-1.9 (but is it acheivable in the auto ?) and anything less than that is putting a HUGE strain on the car.
The thing everyone raves about with the big auto D`s is that they`re so easy to launch, just foot down and go. So where would the extra tenths come from ? If the CSL was running constant 14`s I`d say thats more down to traction than anything else, what was his 60 foot times and what was the trap speed of his car ? I think we`re hijacking this thread a bit now, Sorry Beemerbird. |

'Yakking'....there could be some disturbing analogies for that Mike
Bloke from Hull last year was arrested for an 'incident' involving a goat, railway tracks and a train carriage full of morning commuters as onlookers. I'll leave you to fill in the blanks. True story BTW. |

For anyone who is interested, just been out & came back home down the A1(M) onto M62 etc. Very quiet traffic wise, so with some encouragement from other half, gave it some stick. Unbelievable is the word. Rolling along at 90 mph & accelerated....car knocked itself down a gear & off we went. Accelerating hard, the car decided to go into 6th at twice the national speed limit and TBH just kept pulling. Considering I've been 'playing' today, I still managed a very respectable 33.4 mpg.
OliH, you weren't kidding when you said you won't regret having the re-map done |
