Plan on getting two maps done, 1 for street and the other for track. Is there a difference in efficiency between a dyno or e-tune?

Advantage of tuning on a dyno is that it is safer and mitigates risks involved with tuning on the road that real world conditions carry. Drawbacks are that airflow is considerably poorer in a dyno room vs. the road and most dyno shops have subpar cooling/ventilation polluting the dyno room with carbon monoxide diluting oxygen and impacting tuning unless proper cooldowns are followed. There are also additional dyno rental cost for about an hour or two depending on what we're working towards goals wise with the car. A safe closed road is always best.

Adaptations reset question

I will be getting a tune from you guys soon but am having my valves walnut blasted beforehand. It's my understanding that the the (throttle)? adaptations need to be reset after this procedure (after walnut blast). I'm currently running cobb stage 2 + fmic on my car and my question is do I need to flash back to stock before having my adaptations reset or does it not matter if it's done while I have the stage 2 + fmic cobb tune on my car at the time? I also may be changing coils as preventative maintenance (car has 50k).....Also, would I need to have the adaptations reset again after I get my pro-tune from you guys?

Its not required to reset throttle or any adaptations but its not a bad idea. However, you don't need to uninstall the AP at all to have them reset. You can use INPA, Bav Tech or if the shop has an Autologic tool that'd work as well. After the protune also, there's no need to reset adaptations by default unless a need for it comes up to assist in troubleshooting for instance.

Hi all,

l have a 2009 135i N54 mt with Cobb stg2+ Agg map , FBO except exhaust.

l just bit the bullet and purchased;

RB turbos
Fuel it stg 2 LPFP
RB Pcv Valve and cover

I plan to get you guys to do two tunes once l receive them, and have them installed. One for 98 US 93 equivalent , and one for 98,e85 E40 blend. What map do you suggest l set on the cobb for Datalogging. Also what is your preference ie 3rd gear pull, 4th gear, or both 3rd and 4th together etc.

Are you guys going to start using MHD by any change or just sticking with Cobb?

Are you all supporting single turbo users? If so, is there any additional hardware needed?

I know it's best to get a walnut blast before a etune. But if I get a etune first. Then walnut blast, what would happen? Can engine damage happen? Retune be needed?
