We don't have the M-Sport Package over here, which is why we NEED the ZHP. The only way you can get that trim in the US, is on the 135i.

Please BMW, give us the ZHP model for 2009

ZHP Right away

So do you guys think ZHP will be available right away for '09s (sep/oct) or relased later in the year? In other words, will I be able to order 335i ZHP in Aug. '08?

well i just got an E92 08 335 in September and still have no regrets. First, i think the refresh will be only for the sedan. The interior might be available in the coupe (the new i-drive, DCT, trim) but the exterior will look the same until in 2010.

For us non i-drive, stickshift owners, this will have little impact on us 08 owners.

I am very excited to see the DCT on the 335. I hope the all LED lights makes its way in the coupe soon!

I posted this on the first page but didn't see a response....anyone know if the upgraded idrive will be standard on the 2009 e90? Or will it still be an option you have to get the nav package to get?

You are correct. The sedan and wagon are the only models getting the facelift. The coupe wont be touched up until 2010.

However the iDrive will be changed across the entire 3-line as it was when the E93 got the programmable memory keys. And The DCT will most likely be available on the coupe for 2009

Sorry for the delay, it is tough to work on your own site and still participate in forums.

Our sources are still unsure of this. There is some indication that iDrive will be standard due to the new A4 having MMI standard. This will also make this system cheaper and the need for separate dashes unnecessary increasing economies of scale. Whether the dash will include the double wave or a pop up screen like the 1 is still out there as well. The interior is to receive some tweaks and a complete overhaul like the E60 is not out of the question. We are still almost 6 months out with this.

We at Bimmerfile.com obtaining some of these photos was unexpected but with Audi getting a lot of press lately it is not unheard of. We will try and get you the info as soon as we can. If it is major we will let Jason know, if not we hope that you continue to check us out for part of your daily BMW fix. We do not intend to be a forum or replace this great community, we provide the info in a different manner. We are just an augment to this forum.

I would not jump to conclusions so fast my friend.....
the release date on the E90 may actually become March. The coupes may not see the DCT right away either.... we are sorting this all out still as there are conflicting reports and it has to do with the 7 series.

Just to clarify, the upgraded iDrive might move to March, or the entire E90 facelift/update might move to March?

Hm. The combo that the iDrive might become standard and the facelift might move to March probably sets me up for an 08 model. I'll just live with the moustache grill.

Will check back for more info... since I'm sure it will shake itself out soon enough.

I'm confused by what you mean? March of 2009? I highly doubt BMW would release a 2009 model 3 months into the calendar year. If anything, then it would be a 2010 model.

The DCT needs time to prove itself in the "M3" , so I would understand if they waited with that a little bit. However, the SMG spread across the model range fairly quick.

Makes sense though that none of this will be verified until the new 7 is out.

the mechanical improvements all sound like speculation still...luckily we didn't order iDrive so no big deal; plus the car does not look much different to me

When do the next model year cars become available (order/pickup)? I'm trying to wait for the 2009 (or at least the announcement of them...by the way, when do they announce the next model years?) to see if I should go for what will certainly be a cheaper '08 or spring for the newly updated 2009.

Yes,
You are correct it is confusing. Like I said there are mixed reports we are getting in regards to the time frame. This is also confirmed by those wanting to order cars for October pickup right now as 2009 models. BMWNA is not allowing it, they are giving a mid-July date (which was originally a May date). Also you may not recall this but BMW did stretch the E46 out until March when the E90 was introduced, they also did the same with the 08 E60., and released the next year early. The original info we received indicates the 09 for sometime this fall with the updates, but now there are some that it may possibly be spring as a 2010. BMW wants to beat Audi to market though in the EU so this makes it more likely for a fall October launch, they can take the one month hit but doubt until Spring.

i like the current (2008 3-series) iDrive - simple and not too much button. I'd imagine while driving, you will have to look down to press a button while the current iDrive (the 08 3-series) only have 1 know and 1 button (MENU, that's it) which you dont need to look down. It's also better than my current 5er that has 2 buttons (menu and voice command)

The improvements will happen. The difference will be the the front grill, bumper, hood and not E92 variety..... the remainder you will find out about on Tuesday (we are finalizing and confirming a few additions that we just were informed of).

From my understanding BMW new model year starts in Sept of each year. IIRC this is after the factory shutdown in Aug.

Michael, thanks again for all your info concerning the updates down the road. I appreciate someone like you that provides info once it's been confirmed. We have enough rumors that circulate as it is. I think the changes to come will further enhance the E90 and iDrive/Nav does need a refresh and this one coming including myinfo will enhance the system, I'd almost go on a limb and say if they also configured the search option to be a true search across the board it would be excellent. Having had an E46 for 9 yrs I grew fond of the hood incorporated into the grill area. I never like the moustache grill on the E90, so changing that is a huge plus in my opinion. I will be curious to see how the tailights really turn out, the pic shown is sorta hard to really tell how it will be.

Great job on your website on keeping us updated across the BMW line and to Jason for linking your website here.

Thanks for the great contributions.

I sure hope they don't go with the pop-up to save a few bucks. I think that looks tacky as hell, and one of the reasons I poo-poo the X3.
