i've always like the AMGs... and that one looks great! but its not really affordable... i guess later when im like 35 or something i'll look into it... still got another 17 years to go.

It's funny, because there really aren't too many SLKs in my area, but a lot more Z4s. And the general concensus is that the Z4 is a chick car. But the real kicker is most people that I hear say that...can't even come close to affording it. Just like most people I talk to that are into modding Civics and the like think Porsches look "butt ugly."

So in the end, you're not gonna please everyone. The most important person to please is yourself. If you like it, that's all that matters - whatever car you get, you're always gonna have critics.

SLK55 AMG girl-car

My question is still why compare these two (335i and SLK) with each other? They are both different niches. You should compare a SLK with a Z4 (both roadsters) and the 335i with a CLK (both coupes).

Yes, I must admit those pics look more aggressive. I'm just saying that I personally think that the slk class looks a bit feminine. It's just my opinion. To each his own. I think there are better AMG models that look better. The OP was looking for input and I gave mine. I like the SL class better. And I really like the CLS class.

what i found an interesting point is , people will only step their foot look down on a car which they probably can afford. I hear no one complains SL65, SLR, CLK DTM.

SLK55 AMG, has anyone heard its exhaust sound? What kind of woman would that be if she were driving one of these howling in the crowded streets?

I seldom see ladies driving roadsters , not even Mini Coopers. Men are always the ones being more car fanatics than women. Women car owners here are very cautious about fuel economy, 1300-1500cc Honda Jazz and Nissan Echo are more of their favorite cars. For those singles who can afford a bit more, they drive 3er and I noticed many ladies like the C-class(coupe).

well who care about SLK55 amg is a woman cars or not
when you drive it no one will think this way, and after hearing the exhaust from the SLK55 amg it will become a men's CAR!!! lol!!

and * it's not a SLK 280 or 350we are talking about* rememeber it's a SLK55 AMG it's a damn nice car thats what it is about

i guess the current SLK has a global image problem. the redesigned aggresive front and the dual corner pipes for a standard SLK have not managed to change the stereotype. the prev SLK was definitely a feminine shape. may take a few more generation models to undo the sterotype.

Almost all Benz vehicles don't do a thing to me including AMG models. I just think they are for old people who enjoy retirement. If you are under 40, I would say go for BMW. If you give me two choices: one is get the SLK55 AMG and keep it, and the second choice is get the Mazda MX-5 and save the price difference I would choose the second choice. I mean I don't care how fast a AMG is, the Benz's image is so fixed that they are for the rich gray haired group.
