Dang. It says the rim width range for the the RE-11s in 265mm width is 9-10.5", so I guess that tire in that width won't work on my 8.5" rims. Thanks for the tip.

Edit: I would note that my car does behave much better on hard acceleration in turns, particularly a transition or s type curve, compared to zsp. DSC light doesn't flash nearly as often. So I think there's some positive benefit coming into play, either from an increase in spring rate over zsp or the linearity (or both? ). So I think there are some improvements even at low spring rates, but mainly when pushing the car hard. Last edited by mlifxs; 02-22-2015 at 06:32 PM.. |

The ARC-8 18" rims they sell for the e92 are 8.5" in the front and 9.5" in the rear for a staggered set up. |

Thank you. The ARC-8s are nice for sure, but I kinda want to keep my OEM rims to maintain a stock look. My buddy has the RE-11s on his 335 and loves them, I drove it last week and liked them too. I think I will probably keep my stock rims for now and try the RE-11s in 225/255. Appreciate the help!

235 on an 8" wheel is ok; 8.5 is ideal. 265 on a 8.5 wheel is pretty wide; your sidewalls may roll more than they should; 9.5 is ideal for a 265 tire.

Guys, I have the M sport stock suspension, is this what you are calling the ZSP springs? Want to make sure I understand the terminology correct....

After reading this thread and a bunch of other thread like this.
Here is a mod list i made for DD/weekend spirited driving people: (in order) -Rear subframe bushings Either inserts or full solid bushings. Delrin bushings dont increase NVH. Absolutely necessary for any E9x being driven hard - Front M3 control arms Tightens up front end. Sharpens steering dramatically -Front M3 sway bar Reduces understeer and much better turn in -Tires If you have RFT's. Nows the time to get rid of them. Maybe this should of been forst on the list. Most likely actually -Suspension I will always recomend the Bilstein B12 kit. Cant beat it in every way. If you need/want coilovers. I would either get KW street comforts or something more expensive like TC Kline. Another thing i recomend is dinan upper and lower rear shock mounts. Upper mount actually adds 10mm of travel. Front Dinan Camber Plates also have been recomended by alot of people who run them. If your still not happy. Look into the rest of the stock bushings. For example: Rear diff bushings Rear suspension arms (m3 arms or replace bushings) Sway bar bushings Strut mounts Last but not least: LSD |

No but they do introduce a little more road noise into the cabin.

They reduce the deflection that occurs with oem mounts and add 1 cm of compression travel. The former is important to me.

If it's the rear Dinan shock mounts we're talking about here, the noise increase is minimal at best, in my experience. I'm quite pleased with mine.

The ECS kit is totally optional and not necessary since you can transfer all of those items over from your current suspension. It just makes it a bit easier since you or the installer wouldn't have to disassemble all of the existing parts and reinstall on the coil overs. This makes the front install extra easy since the installer won't have to compress the springs to remove and reinstall the top mounts. If you've had substantial miles on your car (>60,000 miles), then you can also look at the ECS kit as a refresh of the bushings and mounts.
