Does anybody know where in Ottawa area I can get my hood repainted at a reasonable price? My ride takes beatings from tree sap, stone chips, etc. Thank you.

Otto's BMW have done paintwork for me a few times now. They do a 100% professional job and their prices are better than all the jobber places on Laperier. Go see Tai at their body shop on richmond rd. in westboro (at the subaru dealer); he'll hook you up!

If its a purchase, Repainting ur hood will lower the car's resale value BIG TIME, people who will buy ur car after they will think that u got ur hood repainted cuz it was accidented....but thats not true. If its really bothering u and u want to get it repainted, take before and after pictures of the hood so u can prove to the future buyer that u got it repainted cuz of the stone chips and it was NOT accidented . If its a lease, leave it as it is.....no need to get the repaint it, let the dealer take care/deal with it when the lease is over. If u really want to get it repainted even if its a lease, do it who cares.......let the dealer take the hit . Hope this helps

Purchase
I've heard some sort of wet sanding or tricks to restore the hood on my car.
Repainting the hood is my last resort of the last resort. I purchase the car not lease. Got to be some tricks out there... Thanks, dude... Quote:

So anybody ever go back and rip it around Alert Rd (the unofficial Otto's testing ground )? I was at the dealership and took a 335i coupe around there and holy hell is it ever fun. Be very careful if you do it because you can attain stupid fast speeds and that curve around the end of the runway sneaks up on you. Plus I'm not too sure what kinda police patrols there are at that location.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...05579&t=h&z=15 (Follow Alert Rd). Did I mention I got bitten by the 335i bug and am desperately trying to get rid of the little voice in my head that is saying: "Do it! Do it NOW!"

Salvaging
I had better have a chat with Paul. If he totaled an 135i; perhaps I can salvage the engine, ECU, exhaust, etc.
If I am not mistaken; all e90s have the same drive trains....so bam....engine transplants..... |

Paul didn't do it, a young punk test driving did. It was some time ago and I'm sure the kids insurance co bought the car.

Does anyone know of a shop in Ottawa with a road force balancing machine. I seem to have slight shimmy in my steering wheel. Its starts just after 80KM/h all the way through till 120KM/h. Its not constant all through that speed range but comes and goes as I vary my speed. Any info would be great. BTW this insn't warranty related as I am sporting M6 reps.

Thx for the heads up everlast. I called Goldwing and they do have a RFB machine. I was quoted 100$ for just the front wheels... seems kinda steep. Not to sure though, could be complex process. Anyone know??? |
