i think the bb bullet is the best option. it doesn't slip from your hands when you trying to put it in and it has a little indent on the bottom where you can push it in with a small screw driver. And the 4.5mm fits perfect!!!

Let's get loud ( anyway half as loud as a 996 turbo ). IMO this mod provides the perfect sound for the car with stock exhaust.

Just did this mod. Easy as cake. Used a Bb gun pellet. 4.5mm. Fit perfectly. Car sounds slightly better at low RPM's. Great mod!

Well, quite honestly it's not OBVIOUSLY louder. It's somewhat louder. Don't make it out to be louder than it actually is.

Well, if you are running near walls or houses, with your windows down, you can tell it is quite a bit louder, particularly under slight load between 2000-3000rpm's.

Here's a comparison between the two, stock and golf tee... you're welcome.

From inside the car, with the windows down you have to pay good attention to tell the 10% increase in sound over stock. To me that's not OBVIOUS.
I wasn't making any personal negative comments, so please refrain from going in that direction. We're older then that. thanks.

I ended cutting the pin prick piece tube off and retested this ball bearing only idea and I did find an optimal size that will be safe to use and is within a safe deformation limit of the tube.
The 5/32” ball bearing I retested did move slightly over a 3 day period. It did not leak so the size is sufficient to create a seal. The final ball bearing size I did select is 7/32”. Over the last 4 days it has not moved. There is no need to pin prick the hose as the forces need to move the ball exceed what will be available. The ball bearing is easy-moderate to install and would use the end of hex wrench to install the ball down the tube. 7/32” ball bearing is an easy size to find as well since they are used in head set on bicycles so you can pick it up at your local dealer. the perfect tool that i found to push that ball up was using the hex wrench in BMW tool kit... and push that sucker up...

I just kinked and zip tied without disconnecting. Nice sound!
Another benefit is that you get a deceleration burble too...love that sound. |

so once again I have to quote Eugen: it is the perfect sound for this car, just amazing and still civilized at low rpms, much stronger at mid rpms Great mod, simple and effective!

Yep, I used a screw and screwed it into the hose; then capped the metal nipple. It was easy and effective; didn't have to use the ball bearing thing...just a correctly sized screw.

it's easy to see...
Just use a flashlight and look straight into the driver's side exhaust tip....you can't miss it.....if mod is working correctly the "flap" should remain open all the time.
